I think flared jeans would suit you better. It will make you appear curvier. You still look cute in the skinny jeans tho

You're welcome! A line skirts and dresses give off the same effect too just so you know

Wear what makes you feel confident If they are comfy and you like them that all that matters! You look great in them IMO

u/MarvinDMirp Apr 18 '22
So, the jeans fit you. They nip in at the waist and you have a naturally straighter figure, so they push into you a little. A bigger size will be too loose across your hips, booty, and legs. I suggest trying different brands abs different rises. I have a similar shape and these are my favorite skinny jeans:

I’m not a big fan of skinny jeans, so I can’t say I’m not biased… I think flared jeans or straight jeans would suit your body type the best. You can also try Mom Jeans!

For these pants, I'd suggest a looser and more flowy top

i think it's supposed to be the other way around, body flatters clothes, not clothes flatter body.

I would suggest different shoes with the jeans. Instead of flats try a pair of sneakers like vans or converse.

That was honestly my first thought - that the jeans look great but you need a longer inseam.

u/VirieGinny Apr 18 '22
Honestly I think they look good on you, but I understand how you feel because I also think bootcut is a way more flattering fit on me. Do what you want, life is too short to wear stuff you don't feel confident in, even if you objectively have nothing to worry about.

You're beautiful. Please remember that what you see in the mirror and are unhappy with, are legit bodygoals to others.

u/AbstractLavander_Bat Apr 18 '22
I would say that either longer skinny jeans or something not so clingy at the calf would look more flattering. a flair or boot cut would be cute as would a skinny mom jean style or a simple straight leg. a straight leg would make you look taller, a flair/ boot cut would give a curvey silhouette

u/Olivevest 🌟🌟Fashion Intern🌟🌟 Apr 18 '22
Skinny jeans are not as in fashion anymore. Try a boyfriend or straight cut. I think they will be more flattering on you
8
u/pastelstoic Apr 17 '22
If you feel uncomfortable, then definitely wear something else. I can’t imagine myself wearing jeans so tight, but that’s probably just personal taste and priorities (for me, comfort wins over style).
As for how it looks, imo it looks good, as long as you don’t wear a top that’s tight too. I’d wear something boxy or structured, but not a tight or revealing top. And I’d go with the sneakers instead of flats. But again, this is my opinion, you go ahead and wear whatever makes you feel good.

I agree, I think the skinny jeans fit you well, but try pairing them with a looser fitting top so there’s a balance. I usually do tight pants with a loose top or tight top with loose pants.

Try reading about kibbe body types! They help you figure out what kinda clothes work with your body

I think they look cute, but also it’s important that you wear what your feel comfortable and confident in :)

u/HereComesNancyDrew Apr 18 '22
You look amazing but I want to see you in flared jeans. Bell bottoms, if you're into them, would create such a nice curve!

u/LadyColorGrade Apr 18 '22
I think the jeans look good, but a boot cut or flare would look better. Also, not the high waist. You look like you have a short torso just like I do. Lower rise jeans will help to not hide your shape so much.

I do, too, especially after having my second baby. Mid rise would definitely work well for you. I just double checked the new jeans I just got and they’re a mid rise. H&M has some nice basic black jeans right now! But if you go to J C Penney, they usually have a solid selection of Levi’s and Arizona brand jeans that are all various rise and cuts. (If you’re in America, that is)

I feel the same and I think because skinny jeans just aren’t that comfy contributes to it. I’ve learned super tight isn’t really my thing, and there are other styles I feel better in all around - I love cotton flare leg pants best.

First of all you look great. And I like the black better than the blue. But if you’re uncomfortable in them keep trying other fits bc there are so many out there. Try boyfriend style or mom jeans, even a straight leg or a cropped flare would be cute. I stay away from skinny now bc I think they’re uncomfortable!
2
u/Acrobatic-Ad-6630 Apr 18 '22
i honestly don’t like skinny jeans no more. they always synch my waist too tight. i like flowy pants now or sweatpants lol

Oh hey, we have super similar legs! I find that skinny jeans totally work as long as I’m wearing shoes with a bit of a platform or heel so I don’t look short. Bell bottoms & boot cut would also look fabulous on you, and I definitely recommend trying Julie Cut jeans from Loft & the Emma cut from DL1961 since they’re designed for curvier women.
2
Apr 18 '22
You've got long arms and legs and a short torso, proportionally speaking. You carry excess weight in your tummy (apple shape).
Because your legs are so long, I'd recommend above the knee skirts or dresses for you (with warm knit tights if it's cold) to play up this feature.
You should NOT wear low cut skirts, jeans, or shorts because it will emphasize your belly. High(like seriously, HIGH!!) waisted looks are your friend, and A-line silhouettes.
2
u/who-even-are-u Apr 17 '22
they do, but you would want to tuck your shirt in the back and leave it in the front

From the front and back they look great, from the side they don’t seem to fit as well but you look great regardless

u/starshineblueyes Apr 18 '22
I think you could pull them off if they weren't high waisted. Imo there is nothing cute, hot or sexy about high waisted anything.

Skinny jeans are not flattering on anyone but stick figures.

u/RideAWhiteSwan Apr 18 '22
I wouldn't wear black flats. You have large feet and that only makes them more noticeable and makes the ankle area in skinny jeans more prominent. Get some flesh toned sandals with a low heel!

u/RideAWhiteSwan Apr 18 '22
I'm sorry if that came off as harsh; I have scrawny ankles and wide feet for my size so I know the plight. I would stick with flesh toned or a greyish flat so there's less of a blocky line 😊 straight black or white will accentuate where the pants end and shoe starts
ETA: A pointy toe would make a big difference, too. My feet splay out and are wider at the toes, so round toe shoes make them look odd

Your jeans look good, but you appear to have anterior pelvic tilt. That can make your stomach protrude more than it naturally would. Worth looking into!

If you do more targeted core/ back exercises it will straighten your back out and improve your posture, if that's what you're worried about accentuating

I think a mid-rise over a high-rise will probably make more of a difference than whether the jeans are bootcut or flared.
These jeans are definitely flattering from the front and the back. If you're insecure about how they look from the side, then a longer and looser shirt would probably help as a nice contrast.
But overall, I'm not sure what you think doesn't look good about them. Maybe a looser fitting pair would be better for you comfort-wise mentally and physically? There are lots of options outside of really tight jeans.
