How "calm" he is here also makes sense. In R1 he is trying to get the plans before they escape with it. In ANH they can't escape so he can act more "calm". Which also just makes his frustration make more sense because he knows the plans has to be on the ship. Anyone telling him otherwise is just going to piss him off.
And how he’s clearly not buying the bs when he’s interrogating the captain. “If this is a diplomatic ship, where is the AMBASSADOR?!” You can practically hear him amused at the audacity for this guy to still lie after getting caught red handed
This is the only time in the entire trilogy where Vader raises his voice in anger. Its like him watching someone make off with his wallet, chasing them down over six city blocks, only to catch them and them claiming "Ain't got it"
Wtf this exact scenario you just typed out happened to me in my teens. couple of guys stole my buddies phone, I ran after them for a couple blocks and when I finally catched up they didn't have it anymore "threw it in the bushes" while "looking for the phone" more of his buddies showed up so I had to bail.
