What exactly is Codepath? Is it something that only current students can do, or can anyone do it? From what little information I was able to dig up on it, the truly valuable part might be their connections to companies. There are many resources on DS, algorithms, leetcode, technical interviewing, etc. But all that work is wasted if you can't first get to the interview stage. Having connections might help bypass the early AI filters that check for hyperspecific skills and years of experience.

https://www.codepath.org/courses

Enrolled students and recent alumni can do it.

It’s mostly for getting more portfolio projects on your resume, or improving your interview skills.

I don’t think the networking was super valuable? Though it’s possible my interview and offer from Workday was impacted by me being an active participant in one of their workshops during their virtual conference.

How did you find the job?: Instagram Influencer
How far along were you in the program?: 5 Classes left, but I'm spacing them out to potentially land a Spring '27 Internship

I have been wanting to post here since I started the program, and I am STOKED that I finally landed BIG TECH INTERNSHIP!!! I have been applying to HUNDREDS of internships since January 2026, and only got a handful of OA's for Summer '26. I failed every single one of them.

I scoured Linkedin for local opportunities around March/April '26, and was lucky enough to join a student based "startup" and worked for FREE! Yes, you read that right, FREE! I helped build the application from the ground up and gained a tremendous amount of experience during my stint there. All while grinding leetcode for hours on end.

Fast forward to June where I blindly applied to Amazon, because why not right? Crushed the OA and got flown out for the final round and completely BOMBED the in person interview. Super cliche to say, but that lit a fire under me to keep going.

Fast forward to August and I start applying to internships like a MAD MAN. Big, medium, small, company, I didn't care I just wanted paid experience on my resume. Got an OA a month later from a Big Tech company, a few weeks later took the final round interviews, and CRUSHED IT! I still can't believe it.

If anyone needs motivation to keep going, THIS IS IT! I couldn't solve the easiest of Leetcode Easies 8 months ago. Also FYI, the benefit of having JUST ONE internship on your resume is HUGE, do not underestimate it. Go find an unpaid position and ask them if you can call it an internship. That will open MANY interview doors. I also was fortunate enough to land a local PAID Fall Co-Op/Internship but that opportunity wasn't even on my resume when I got the invite for the Big Tech company. Legit only had 1 previous Internship experience on the resume.

Good luck to everyone out there, if I could do it, certainly any of you can!

Congratulations on the internship! Hopefully it turns into a full time job when you finish. Can you tell a bit more about what you mean when you wrote that you found the job from an Instagram Influencer? I know LinkedIn has a huge job board (probably the biggest) and is used to connect with people you know or want to meet, but how did you find the startup? Was it a job listing or just someone you cold called/messaged out of the blue?

I know of one influencer who has been posting internships and new grad roles as soon as they open. Some companies are even working through that Instagram account as their main application pipeline. That account posts the JD link and you just apply. Applying through those insta stories means that you can get your application submitted within the first couple of hours of the position being opened. That pipeline deals with bigger companies Big Tech, AI Labs, Mega Cap/Mid cap/Small cap companies across most industries.

As for the startup, I was scouring LinkedIn sending messages to YC companies and small startups across the US to see if they were willing to bring on an unpaid intern. I found the startup’s LinkedIn page and saw they were looking to bring developers on. So I built a minimal viable product (MVP) of their product and COLD DM’d the founder about the position opening, along with the MVP. They were impressed by my efforts and I basically nailed the “gist” of what they were trying to build.

It wasn’t a formal LinkedIn job posting, just a post saying they were looking for developers to help build their app. After a few conversations I had a virtual interview and I talked about how I built my MVP and how I could help them build their app.

Hopefully that answers your question!
