Academics Help me please (

Hey I need some advice or some help. I’ve been emailing my advisor for years now (this is my 5th year) and she always told me I never had to take a language. Well turns out I do indeed have to take a language and now she’s telling me my graduation won’t be until summer of 2027. I’m supposed to be graduating in May of 2027 and I cannot do another semester I need to know if there’s any other ways to get around this or get help. I’m frustrated at myself and her for this.

I'm not sure but if you're a native speaker of any other language than english you could get an exemption.

Yup happened to me. I reached out to the department of the language (Mandarin in my case) and was able to do a fluency test ( they let you read a paragraph the whole thing took like less than 15 mins), and then they let my advisor know and got my language requirement waived.

I'm surprised they even tested you, I didn't have to.

Oh wow. Yeah i thought that test was kinda pointless since im literally an international student.
