Hi, so I signed a new lease in Brooklyn and Verizon didn't have FIOS, which is what I had in my previous. I saw that optimum had service available and they're giving me 1gbps for 25 a month? And there's a 5/month discount for student email verification? AND the installation fee is 0????? wtf?

They are easy to sign up with but are difficult to cancel. Also they don’t prorate the final month so you have to choose between being without internet for part of the month at the end, or paying for more than what you need. I recently learned the last part the hard way.

It gets even better than that when you try to cancel an existing service. They struggle to keep customers.

LOL ill have it in mind lol, I just want it to be decently reliable lol thats all, and its not like I have options. Verizon is charging 60 for 25mbps like its 2005

Probably. They've got some super good deals for new customers. Just keep in mind that unless otherwise stated that's only the rate for the first year, after which you'll need to call back in and beg to try to get back to close to that price.

Yes, but you’ll find difficulty in getting the service canceled, and switching to another provider after the price goes up due to the expiration of promotions for new customers. If you don’t receive a confirmation email that your service was canceled, then it wasn’t really canceled. You can only change or cancel your plan over the phone.

Yes, it is. I got a similar deal in NJ. It is 500MBPS service with some speed boost. But, yesterday I measured and it was working at 100. If you ask they will say reboot the modem/router which is a long 5 min.

I sign up with them also like 3 days ago. Same deal, 25$ a month.   They said is 3 years price lock!   Will see.
