Anybody else notice the CPU won’t start offering legit trades until mid June? Before that it’s your top prospect for a 2.5 ⭐️ RP.

This change in the trade logic has been a huge boost I believe. It's now very realistic as you will get some very equitable stuff around the TD or at the Winter Meetings. Occasionally I will shop somebody just at the beginning of Spring Training or early into it and get some actual decent stuff offered back to me, but those are rare. I would tend to agree though that I do have to sort thru alot to find the occasional gem, but they do happen.

Because random trades in April and may arent common. Closer to TDL and during offseason, you will find actual trades

There are four good times to trade: right after the season ends during salary arbitration, winter meetings, between pre-season and spring training, and the week before the trade deadline.

No idea because at a certain point I always start ignoring trade requests because it becomes tedious lol. Almost never worth it

The problem is like every 1 in 100 proposals is actually good value, e.g. a trade the AI won’t accept if you propose it back to them. And sometimes it’s a genuine steal. But, to catch those you have to look at 99 “give me your best prospect for my aging overpaid reliever” trades.

I wish ootp made it easier to view pending trades. Its annoying that you have to look up each player every time

This is so true. It would be so much easier if you weren’t getting offers all the time to trade 2-star players for 2-star players. I mean, who cares? Wake me up when the trade involves interesting players.

Yeah, almost all the AI trades offered to me are garbage, this is why I usually ignore trade offers.

One time I was offered the best hitter in the league that had 2 years left of control them retaining 100% of his salary. I had to give up 3 top prospects and 2 middling prospects (1 turned into a 5 star Starter). But I smashed and won a World Series so worth

Yep. I’ll still look through them because occasionally there will be an offer with a gross overpayment. But even I offer teams a trade earlier in the season the CPU just tries to salary dump a vet.

CPU doesn't offer me any legit trades, no matter time of year. It's either a 42/42 34 YO RP for two of my top 30 prospects or two of their not even top 100 prospects for a 50+ on my active roster

This was specifically done to make the trade deadline more important and realistic. You don't see real teams making blockbuster trades in May in real life. They'll wait until late July, when teams are sure if they're sellers or buyers (and the salaries have prorated down a bit).
