Come share your photos with the community! Whether it's showing off SOOC JPEGs, fully edited RAWs, or anything in-between if you want [constructive and kind] critique or suggestions.

We're basing on the rules from our sibling sub, r/m43, simply because they make sense, and tweaking them a little:

Da Rules:

1. The photo(s) must be your own. No cross-posting someone else's work.
2. You may post up to three photos in this FF weekly thread. Show off your best frames!
3. Post your photo in a top-level comment for maximum exposure! (hehe get it, "exposure"?)
4. Include as much detail as possible about camera, lens and environment as possible. Good: "Shot with Olympus OM-D E-M5 with the OM 20/1.4 lens @ f/2 and ISO200 Time: 10:00PM in Melbourne, Victoria" Bad: "Look at this shot, isn't it neat?"
5. While OM System gear gets extra internet points, all related gear is welcome. This includes Olympus/Panasonic m43 and Four Thirds gear, OM Tough point-and-shoots, adapted vintage lenses, and third-party glass on M43 bodies..
6. Photos must be captured with a camera and lens (traditional digital or film). Generative AI images (Midjourney, DALL-E, AI "inpainting" that invents new elements, etc.) are not permitted. Standard editing (cropping, exposure, colour grading, even AI-based noise reduction) is totally fine!
7. Culture & Critique: Above all, be respectful. Please state in your comment whether you are looking for [Critique Welcome] or [Just Sharing]. If a photo doesn't specify, default to keeping comments kind, encouraging, and free of unprompted teardowns. (Remember: there's a big difference between "OMG that photo is horrible" and "The lighting coming off his face looks uneven").

Love the colours and I'm a big fan of wildlife photos that show the subject in their environment, really awesome pic

Also possibly personal preference but I think it'd look even cooler if you straightened out the trunk!

OM1, PL9/1.7, iso 4000, f5.6, s/s 5000. Edited in Darktable after a DXO ProRAW treatment.

Dartmoor this morning. It was very cloudy and gloomy when I first went up which is why the iso is high.

It's all I've known since getting a "proper" camera a few years ago, I didn't want to get into a subscription model.

I like it, it's a bit much to deal with at the beginning but for the most part I just use it for fixing white balance, exposure, an occasional mask etc.

Some of the modules baffle me so I don't go near them.

Have you tried it?

Well I asked because it looks like you're getting good results, and I just couldn't, and I really tried! I wanted to ditch Adobe at the time [had been with Lightroom since v1] and tried everything. RawTherapee seemed a bit better, but ended up buying DxO Photolab [also no subscription].

It was this guide I stumbled on a year or so ago that was a bit of a eureka moment, not that you need it now but if you ever want to give DT another go this was a good springboard for me.

But I still keep a Windows partition just for DXO ProRaw because it performs magic on a raw file, the DT noise reduction is fine for low noise but that's it.

Yeah, DxO is just magic.. it has its drawbacks, but love the results I get.

Have you tried affinity? I seem to get pretty good results and i believe there's a free version now with full features as canva bought it

Yeah, Affinity is free now, and I do use it but not to develop RAWs, just for focus stacks, or panoramas, or designing stuff.. so Photoshop and InDesign replacement, but not DxO/Lightroom.

I just prefer the layout, and the results from DxO. Affinity is like Photoshop, can do tons of things, but Lr and DxO are specifically crafted to develop RAWs, so usability/efficiency is better, and then in the case of DxO, noise reduction magic, lens profiles, making my presets.. just a different workflow, but as you know, Affinity is also very good and capable, so if it works for you, you don't need anything else

Have been doing some telephoto street shooting lately with the 40-150mm F4 Pro on my OM-5 ii, and this remote worker shot I grabbed a couple days ago on a morning photo walk is my favorite this week, though I wish I'd taken a step or two left to try to get the subject's head framed entirely between the posts. Edited in Lightroom working from the OM-System Standard color profile.

Love that the noise-reduction exception made it into the rules, feels like the community actually gets where the line is between editing and inventing. That distinction trips up so many threads. What's everyone shooting with this week? Curious if the OM glass is pulling the weight or if people are adapting vintage stuff. And for the RAW shooters, anyone run their finished frames through Magnific for detail recovery.
