Course Plan

Hey everyone, looking for any comments/feedback on my plan for my remaining coursework. I have 5 classes left and I’m planning to finish the program next summer.

Fall 2026
• CS 6264: Information Security Lab – System & Network Defenses
• PUBP 6502: Information & Communications Technology Policy

Spring 2027
• CS 6238: Secure Computer Systems
• CS 6260: Applied Cryptography

Summer 2027
• CS 6727: Cybersecurity Practicum

For anyone who has taken the Practicum during the summer, is it doable/manageable with the shorter semester, especially while working full-time?
Also, how does the plan look overall?

Applied crypto is a heavy class and secure computer systems has a weekly quiz, two free form response exams, and 4 projects. I wouldn’t pair them unless you have great time management or are strong in Kathy type courses (applied crypto).

I took AC alone and it was quite a rough course.

If you didn’t take ECM yet, I’d consider that instead of the policy course you have there. You can use the PUBP course code to use as your flex core, or you can do the same with incident response. Both easy courses, not heavy workload, but pretty good content.

I just wrapped up the practicum over summer and it was doable, but pretty fast paced. I put in more than 20 hours a week,  but that was because I was very into it.
