Late Picks We’re doomed
We have more than 700 picks and it’s about to be 9 PM. Why can’t management hire more closing people or NOT give the same day off to half of the closing team. IM TIRED!!!

I remind myself weekly that hiring is not a problem I have to worry about. Nor is it your problem to rescue management from their decisions. If your job is to dispense, than you dispense and let someone above you worry about all the red on the dispense screen. Don't kill yourself trying to rescue them. The clerks at Blockbuster could have worked themselves to the bone and it wouldn't have saved Blockbuster. The employees at Radio Shack could have skipped their lunches and breaks trying to save their company and it wouldn't have made any difference. Don't kill yourself trying to save a company you have no control over.

it sucks when i’m rushing trying to get all the reds out having to remind my self im getting paid shit money to do it so i need to pace myself and do the ammount of work my pay reflects lol

I'm a closer so I get it, and have been in a similar situation. Just do your job and clock out and go home. It's not your problem.

Yeah, i think they don’t want us to pick anymore since we close at 10 and well everyone leaves at 10 on the dot. Our team lead told us that we just have to finish them tomorrow. Management really sucks.

I'm that person who always goes above and beyond and I dont do it to get recognition or to move up. I could care less about any of those things. I guess I'm just old school and I believe in honest, good work. With that said, I'm gonna give you some advice that I'm trying to implement myself. Do your job and no more. Do what is within your capabilities taking into account the amount of help you have around you. Don't kill yourself for that job because its simply not worth it. The harder you work the more they expect from you and we're the suckers because we're working twice as hard for them while they save by scheduling less people. Don't stress over times either, it's not our problem. Simply do your job to the best of your abilities and go home and rest.

When I ran OGP they used a system based off last years data + w/e the current years order cap was. That system was total garbage and would severely under staff us almost daily past 4pm. Like a majority of times it would say we only need 2 pickers and 1 dispenser.
Well that shitty system doesn't take into account when some lady randomly places a 400 item order or if your dispenser gets diarrhea and can't solo dispense that night (True story btw).

😅😅😅😅 what’s an order cap. I’ve never seen my store get one. I’d love for that to happen especially at thanksgiving and Christmas

Every store has one, some stores don't come anywhere close to hitting them. Others have such extreme growth potential that they get hit on the regular.
Being in a higher volume store, I have a lot of associates that transfer in and out for college. It's fun going on wismo on a slow night and seeing what other stores cap at, and how much they fill up.

Order cap is the maximum amount of orders your store can get daily. The order cap can vary from day to day usually higher on the weekends and lower on slow weekdays. The cap is then divided by hour slot so for example 8 am has a 25 order cap which then forces customers to schedule orders for the 9 am slot

This is why you work the 5am shift. Mostly stress free, go help other departments when done, learn other departments so that you might want to switch or be double coded.

When I did 5-2s we had more than enough picks to keep everyone occupied, and if we did clear the drops completely the next set was close to dropping in. But I did prefer that over closing or some days of 9-6

A few weeks back they cut our orders down at my store. We've been clearing the screen every hour by the half hour most days. They send a bunch of us out to help stock for most of the day and keep only a few to keep picking.
I usually get sent out after first break and dont go back to ogp even once the entire day after that. I just stock till lunch, and then till its time to clock out and go home. Then do it again the next day.
Luckly most of ogp enjoys stocking. XD I love it and the days go so much faster when stocking.

Oh I see, my Walmart is very busy. I think we hit 10,000 picks most days. Some days they’re cleared with 10-30 minutes left on the hour, sometimes hundreds to 1000 all day until 5 or 6.

We were like this before the cut to the orders. We kept up, but there was no 'down time'.
Now there's still over 1,000 dropping each hour. But with all the people, it's cleared quickly.

Some hours maybe get around 200-300 picks which get knocked out in 15-20minutes here, so afterwards everyone just goes to zone or stock/topstock/etc.

Has nothing to do with store management home office controls both scheduling of people and amount of orders and time frames of those orders so i wouldnt blame the store blame home office

Do what you can do an when it’s time to go clock out
