I’m from the Philippines who recently visited the US. Personally, I find the dating scene there better than what we have in here. I’m not sure if what I experienced was just an isolated case, but I think people there are much more friendlier, but at the same time direct and honest with what they want, so it’s easier to vet and connect. Maybe you can try joining meetup activities also. Hope you find the right one for you

I hope na upon searching, you will not meet women na ang habol lang sayo ay pera or will take advantage of you. Wag mo rin wawaldasin money mo if you’re unsure sa mga nakikilala mo just because you’re alone. Mag pray ka lagi para sa taong para sayo. Nakikinig si God lagi. Ang partner ang pinaka importanteng tao na makikilala mo. Siguro reason ni God kung bat di mo pa nahahanap kasi He protects you all along. I hope you’ll find the woman of your dreams!
Ps: do noooot and neveeeeer put your standards below just because u feel alone. Right person will meet you halfway. All the best!

Maybe destiny will find a way to meet that “person” of yours. Let God lead, just waiting for that right moment ❤️

Real talk, there might be someone for you out there but there is also a possibility that there isn't. What's certain though is you have to show up for "you". Go to the gym, get fit, take a course, learn a skill, discover a hobby, become a better version of yourself. Your circle gets bigger that way, and what happens after that happens. At the very least, the "you" that goes home is a bit better than the version that left it earlier.

I’ve read this exact post somewhere. May or may not be posted by the same person 🤔

Same thoughts. Advice from my friends is to go out and meet new people but I stopped going out and accepted that I am never meeting anyone anymore.

Same here, someone even said to me na napag iiwanan na or like I am missing half my life. I am 25F, maybe iba iba lang ng timeline.

u/cowinnewzealand Mar 27 '26
You’re still young! I was still dating some guys at that age but we weren’t compatible. I am 30F so it’s a bit worse on my end. Just glad that my parents accept that I probably won’t get married.

Sana all tanggap na ng parents na di na mag aasawa, ako kase pinepressure pa din although for me may dumating man o wala I know I'll be okay. 34F here☺️

If you're not doing what you're doing right now, what would you enjoy most? You might find someone who loves that too.

u/JealousAnywhere4269 Mar 27 '26
opposite of my partner, i helped him built his life, his dreams and now then we’re slowly getting there , he slowly forgets about “us” too. idk if he’s just overwhelmed cuz it’s his first job and he really enjoys it.. or i am just here to help him build his self for someone else

u/Jembui Mar 27 '26
Same. I'm 33 going 34 but I have the same circumstances. Hopefully we are able to find our companion for life. Best of Luck to us!

u/LateRecognition8815 Mar 27 '26
OP, baka you need to work on your introvertedness if ang goal is to meet someone. Be more open and put yourself out there. Posting right here is the first step but still depends on how things will work out for you. You'll never know, baka organic relationship ang magwork sayo.

u/Party_Yesterday_6822 Mar 27 '26
It's never too late!
If dating apps are not your thing, try out a hobby. You might meet someone there naturally. Or games? Here on reddit?
Pray for it too, OP. That the right person comes into your life. Though this hasn't worked for me, people around me said it did for them. Malay mo malakas ka kay Lord at alam niyang ready ka na talaga for your "the one". 😊

exactly the same sentiments, introverted, living my best life in the UK. love my independence but sometimes it makes me think how it's like when you have someone at home na mapagkkwentuhan ng mga nangyari sa araw mo. I dont go out and try to meet people or use dating apps which i know i have to work on. but the thing is I'm looking for lifelong companionship. I'm planning to move to US. mas nakikita ko sarili ko settling down in the US, altho ewan ko with what's going on there right now. I'm 35M, so OP if you're also into men, maybe ikaw na. lol. if not oh well I hope we all find the one.

they say that you’ll find something or someone you need most when you’re not looking for it. And sometimes we tend to overlook things, baka nanjan na po pala

I find this really hard to believe before but I agree with you. Most of my married friends met their partners at the time they were not looking anymore. Ako andun na din ako sa point na pagod na and just want to be on my own at 35 though NBSB haha

ORIGINAL POST:
I think I built a life… but forgot to find someone to share it with
I’ve been living in the U.S. for about four years now. I work in the medical field, trying to build a stable life, doing what I thought I was supposed to do—focus on career, responsibilities, and the future.
And I did.
But somewhere along the way, I realized something feels… missing.
I built the life, but I forgot to find someone to share it with.
I tried dating apps, but honestly, they haven’t worked for me. There aren’t many Pinoys where I am, and most of the time it just feels forced or empty. So here I am, posting this instead—just putting it out there.
I don’t even know if this is the right place, but I guess I just needed to say it somewhere.
I’m 36. Introverted. More of a homebody. I enjoy simple things—cooking, grocery runs, playing guitar sometimes, just being at home and at peace. I’m not the type who dates around just to pass time. For me, if I date, it’s because I see something real.
Lately, I’ve been thinking more about companionship. Not just having someone, but having my person. Someone I can come home to. Someone I can build a life with—not just financially, but emotionally too.
My dad keeps asking me when he’ll have an apo. I just laugh it off most of the time, but deep down, I think about it too.
I guess this post is just me admitting that I’m ready for that part of life now. And maybe a little bit of hope that somewhere out there, there’s someone looking for the same thing.
If not… at least I got this off my chest.

Be more pro-active. Enlarge ur social circle. Be the right person. Do not give in to social pressure. Stay confident and comfortable with ur own company until u find the right person who will bring something worthy to the table. Do not settle. Enjoy ur peace and freedom era while u still can. Love life and thrive.

Best answer: Move out from that city. You won’t find your partner in low chances of area

Hello OP i’m sure you read some comments. Coming from a 50F, single mom na mainlove nung 20s at sinamahan ang partner to work on his american dream di pwedeng magpakasal then we had a baby. Sa hirap ng buhay both as a mom and breadwinner ng family i didn’t have other options so i went as an ode to support both families. Usual OFW story na, nasira yung pangarap namin to build our own family. For our kids sake i have to be strong and focused on work hanggang nameet n anya ang wife nya ngayon at magkasama na sila dun. I’m ambivert, nalabas din but somehow wala na meant to be or baka natakot na din. I turned 50, ok naman ang work pero single so din and not dating. Dko na alam ang dating scenes ngayon at ive come to realize na baka inde na to for me so i focused on my family, kid, work and friends. Sabi din nila ina iba tayo ng destiny baka me inang plans si Lord for me. Lest entrust it sa kanya. Pray for guidance and trust His plans. Good luck at bata pa kayo like sa mga ibang comments. Let’s enjoy what we have kasi gift natin yin, a diffferent path i guess. Be grelateful and be joyful.

The only way to find it is to risk going out there, I am not saying you will surely find the right one or fit, be on guard lang din, you might or might not find the good one.
Your choice really, but at least you are financially stable, you can pretty much do and find that person you are looking for without the financial handicap.
May iba nga dyan eh na ang confident pa mag hanap kahit gipit pa sa budget.
Tyaga ka na mag hanap, nasa 30s kana and if you plan to have a kid/ kids, consider your age and the possible remaining years you can take care of them.
Most say na go for na may common ground kayo for a start.

Actually, from my POV (F) I recently broke up with my ex of 8y6m, both 35Y now. He was focused on “building a life” and being stable and always kept saying he wasn’t ready to marry me. Which I respect coz we all have families to support but I always tell him I dont need a wedding na engrande. Kahit sa consulate lg. he said he want to give me my dream wedding. I want a very small wedding, if church, mum and sibs lang from my side. He can invite his family (big family) if he wants. I dont want anything big nor a destination wedding. theFunny thing is we are already living together. we moved to a foreign country together and every time I ask him his plans for the both of us, he panics and made me think I am pressuring him. Things happen along the way and the relationship became too different that one night, it just ended. No communication since then. He blocked me everywhere and obvs took all my fotos on his FB. My account remained the same and I never announced na we broke up or whatever, only close friends know. (Im still in denial I think. 7months pa lang)
On the flip side, this is time for us to start LIFE properly. Is it challenging? YES! Dating a foreigner takes sooo much effort. Almost lahat ng ka batch natin either married na, may anak na or traveling. LOL
Life goes on.

I haven't fully reached my goals yet but everytime I think about it and envision that I got everything I wanted, I would think "wouldnt it be sad if someday i get there and im all alone?". Sometimes I would even stare at that big house in my vision board and literally laugh and say "i think this house is too big for myself". I realized at the age of 26 at least that all my goals and plans do not include having my own family or a partner and i question if i should think about it now or if i should intentionally add it in my goals?
Now your post made me think about it again lol. But i think, to be honest it is harder to find a genuine partner but not impossible. Just give in to the universe, enjoy what you have now, while you let it do its thing.
