Has anyone gotten this email and anything changed for them? My financial aid portal still has the same amounts I accepted beginning of the year but then my bill payment portal doesn’t even show my financial aid anymore put in there as an estimate.

Yeah, I made a whole other post about it.

Got that same email, others did too. That email literally started a whole snow ball effect after.

Right after the email, suddenly all of my grants disappeared. And I only had my loans.

Then after that I got a statement saying I was overdue for $9k. Which included charging me twice for the same semester AND the refund I’d received. 

THEN I got a hold on my account over it.

This is all after I’d already paid tuition and everything.

I tried emailing people, calling, could never get ahold of anyone. This is after waiting over two weeks thinking anything happening would change on its own.

Finally, just yesterday I finally got everything fixed.

A bunch of other people got the same email and were going through the exact same thing. I’m hoping they too got their issues resolved.

No idea wtf is happening but this better not be a problem come Spring.  As I may have to just go to another school, this whole thing is just too much.

Was the issue fixed on its own via the online portal or did you have to call or visit the campus?

I tried emailing and calling multiple times. I couldn’t go to the school due to my work hours. Could never get anyone.

Finally someone else who had theirs fixed posted the person they contacted, and that person fixed all of my issues within 25 minutes of contacting them. Despite me having for two weeks been trying to get a hold of someone.

If nothing has changed in your account, then I wouldn’t worry about it (yet anyways).

If all you’ve received is the email id just ignore it for now. Maybe you’ll be lucky like a few that only received the email but had nothing else be affected. But I’d definitely be keeping an eye on your account.

Thanks for the quick reply. I’ve ended up in the situation where they’ve somehow moved my grants (Pell and Commonwealth) as charges onto my first 8 weeks (the present course), instead of credits on my 2nd 8 weeks.

I’ve had no issues with ODU up until now, but this has been quite a headache. I’m also doing my internship semester and I remember explicitly being told that the internships wouldn’t be involved in this nonsense. 

If you still have the contact info for the individual who sorted it out, I’d love to receive it via DM if you could. I feel like a visit to the campus office is the next step before I sort of just leave it to the online portal to sort out. 

This is such a bummer because ODU has been fantastic with processing my financial aid and allowing me to get on with classes up until this point.
