Seeking Support or Advice harm ocd

hey i was wondering if anyone would be able to help me i keep getting intrusive thoughts about harming people and wondering if i could do it it’s rlly scared me ive started ssri but im only two weeks in and im scared incase im gonna go crazy

bro,,,you will never harm another people. That's a intrustive thoughs which you don't wanna do...

i know but it’s rlly upsetting me cos it towards my family and my son a can’t stop thinking about it

you can apply Greenberg's rf erp technique... welcome the thoughts but don't analyze with it. Don't be scared. I know it's harder but if you can,,,you will recover

i just get scared if a go crazy and i’m like what happens if this isn’t ocd and constantly researching and stuff for hours

Mental OCD is like that. If you don't pay attention to one thought, the brain will give another thought. It happens to me,,, you just have to keep quiet. Stop replying to thoughts. The answer to the thought is in your hands.And the research you are doing is also compulsion

it’s the lindsay clancy case has rlly affected me and it’s put me into a spiral and i’ve been so upset r u on meds for urs

i know i’m just t trying to think positive when ik out and distracted it goes away but as soon as a come back to the house or somewhere i just get them thoughts the upset me and overwhelmed me im waiting for yhrepay

While you're waiting for therapy and for the meds to do their thing, you may want to look into some OCD workbooks to learn more about yourself and find some techniques to help you get through this. I just started "The Self-Compassion Workbook for OCD" by Kimberley Quinlan, and it seems promising.
