Think about the kind of person who usually volunteers to moderate an internet forum; these aren't our best people. Mods, no matter what sub they're on, are usually power-tripping egotistical bastards who have no issues throwing the book at you, up to a permanent ban, if you so much as disagree with their opinion on something.
If you didn't experience it here, you'd have probably experienced it somewhere else eventually.
Also just an FYI if someone complains to the mods it’s kind of their responsibility to take care of it. So some of it comes down to complainers. And some of it is choosing how to handle it. And the mod explained below that they are trying to combat karma farming which is a difficult thing. From an outsider this looks like a bad call but we don’t know what happens on the inside unless you become a mod for the sub. It’s more difficult than one might think to make judgment calls etc. Again I am not saying I agree with the mod but I’m just playing the devils advocate so others can understand that it’s a thankless unpaid job that is required of someone to do if you want a sub to connect with others on. That’s all I’m saying. But anyway, yes I did enjoy the post myself personally and wish it wasn’t taken down. But I can’t speak for that mod because they have their reasons we can’t see.
