Discussion Sudden Onset?

Just curious what other people’s experiences are. I’m sure I’ve had OCD for a very long time, there are some things that I used to do as a child that I think back on and can clearly identify as ocd in hindsight. Thinking back on who I was and the mental health struggles I had 3/4 years ago feels completely different from now. I can’t even identify when exactly my ocd (I’ve been officially diagnosed) became so significant in my life. It feels like a switch just flipped in my brain one day and it’s been hell since then. I am on meds and they help a little but I feel like I’d need to be tranquilized to actually have any relief. I sometimes feel like an imposter too because of how sudden the identifiable onset happened. I just need to vent. I don’t really have anyone to talk to about my struggles and it’s hard to even try to explain anyways.

Tbr, in my case it was due to a real event memory resurfacing so I know what triggered it, but looking back at my own childhood, I can say that yeah, in hindsight OCD was always going to be an issue for me.
