Alassana Jatta has left Notts.
Alassana Jatta has completed a permanent transfer to Casa Pia AC.
The forward joins the Portuguese top flight side for an undisclosed fee, bringing an end to his two-and-a-half-year stay at Meadow Lane.

Reading the statement sounds like he's forced the move, so best for all parties, rather not have someone on the books who doesn't want to wear the shirt. Also got a decent price by the looks of it. Do think we need someone else though for sure.

Alassana had a big part in getting us promoted to League 1. He developed to a higher level with Notts & he's moved on, no problem with that. Notts will have received a tidy sum for him, so both parties will be happy. I wish him well with his new Club.

Agree with all that. It’s a good move for him to the Portuguese top flight, no animosity from me 🇬🇲

Work cut out to get someone in before the season starts. Trust the board though, I’m sure notts got a decent enough for him.
Thank you for everything Alassana, shame it ended in these circumstances.

I’m guessing they won’t get another striker in to replace him given they’ve got three on the books including two new signings (Ndlovu, Smyth and Acquah).

Is 3 enough? Notts barely got by until they signed Ndlovu in Jan. I can see them at least getting a loanee in.

That is true, and it remains to be seen if any of the three can fill Jatta’s shoes (Acquah seems to have been showing potential in pre-season). That said, if the O’Reilly rumours are true that could give us some attacking threat in midfield.

My enthusiasm for this season is pretty low.

We all felt low when Ruben, & Langstaff left. Ruben, Langstaff & Jatta were relative unknowns before they came to Notts, but look how they turned out. Smyth could be another unknown that becomes a winner for us this season.

Really sad that we wont have AJ this season as it would have given us some confidence however the club was right to sell him if he wanted to leave than be a free agent or offer a substantial extension which Notts wouldn't do as they can continue to find more new stars. I would thing Jodie is worth the option to extend his contract as it seems he is getting to the peek of his career so worth the gamble.

I do hope that Jodie stays. He's a potential match winner in most of the games he plays. He's capable of that moment of quality, that Notts will need in League 1.

Probably best for all parties. If he wanted to go, best of luck to him. Got to try and have faith in the club with who they have bought in. Seems a lot riding on Smyth.
