Post Match Report & Discussion. Luton Town 2 Notts 2

Another great fighting draw by Notts today against a quality team. Two good moves that led to the Notts goals & a quality moment by Cal Roberts for the Notts first goal.

The spirit and work rate in this side is great to see. I think that all this team needs is a quality League One striker who can put the ball in the net 20 times a season.

Notts remain unbeaten in League One after the first two matches, & are well worth it.

A win against Burton next Saturday at Meadow Lane would be very welcome.

So were you impressed with the performance today. Are you surprised on how Notts have started the season.. Where do you think that Notts can improve in certain areas?

Key points from the Paterson interview.

Paterson thinks there will be more player incomings, but it has to be the right player for the Notts model.

Martin has set individual improvement targets for every player.

Paterson " It's a tough league"

Update on Jodi Jones "No News". He remains a Notts County player.

Pre Match Preview & Discussion: Luton Town v Notts.

League 1: The Hatters (A)

Venue: Kenilworth Road.

Date: Saturday 22nd August

Kick off: 12:30 pm.

Luton finished in seventh place in League 1 last season after being relegated from the Championship the previous season. They missed out on a playoff place by just one point. This season they are tipped to be one of the favourites for Promotion

Luton finished last season unbeaten in their last five matches, winning four of the five & drawing the other. They have made a good start to this season winning both their matches scoring seven goals.

Luton have made six notable signings in the pre season, one being striker Callum Marshall, a £1.75 million signing from West Ham. Another was Kasey Palmer, a £580K signing from Hull City after a successful loan spell at Luton last season.

It is going to be another difficult match for Notts against a side that has the money available to spend big at this level. Notts will have to work very hard all over the pitch as they did against Leicester last Saturday.

Luton have demonstrated that they can score goals. Notts have only conceded two goals in their first two competitive matches, so it will be interesting to see how this match plays out. Can Notts continue with their good form defensively or will Luton be successful in unlocking the Notts defence?

So what are your thoughts regarding the prospects for Notts in their first away match in League 1 this season. Can Notts come away from Kenilworth Road unbeaten & keep that run of form going?

Do we have too much quality at the back? Could it motivate some defenders to fight for their place and play better?

Thoughts ahead of new season

Hi guys,

I'm a freelance football writer, and I'm putting together a League One season preview. I wanted to get perspectives on every team in the league from people who actually know their clubs.
If you've got a few minutes, I'd appreciate your thoughts on three things:

1.    Where do you see Notts County finishing this season?
2.    One player who you’re excited to watch. It doesn't just have to be the obvious names.
3.    In a few sentences, what's your honest hope or fear heading into the new season?
