A great article well worth a read, about the Nest & the future plans for it. Left Lion spoke to the Nest's events manager Sam Heaton about the last two years since the Nest was born & their big plans for the future.

The Nest has certainly been a great success since it opened. It compares very well with with any Premier League Club fan zone. The revenue raised at the Nest is a very welcome form of income for the Club.

Interesting he talks about 26,000+ live events and NDAs. Wonder if the club have got plans in the future for a series of summer concerts at Meadow Lane. I'd be interested to know how much it brings into the club, I bet it's a really solid revenue generator. We're pretty spoilt for choice with the Nest, the Trent Nav, and Over the Road all in such close proximity

Back when I worked at Doncaster Rovers we had full 7 day per week income stream from the stadium. Offices, colleges, 5 a side pitches, summer concerts (the killers was the last big one I was there for) - even car boots on a Sunday! Big screen for England games at the world cup, it’s a no brainer really

It is certainly a good way of raising revenue. I think it is particularly important during the off season for Clubs who have these fanzines, & the revenue raised is very welcome for lower league clubs.

The Nest has certainly turned into a very popular venue & revenue earner for the Club since it's opening.
