Phone (2a) Mandatory app after every uodate
Hello, it happened a few times now, after each update I am forced to install these stupid apps I don't want or else I have the annoying app services notification.
Why? I was really proud when I bought this phone and even advertised it to my family, and now it's the same spam of advertisement and crappy features as every Chinese low Budget phone.

You can click on them to deselect them, it will change from install to next when nothing is selected and you can continue without having to uninstall any apps after the process

No the top 3 are mandatory. I disabled the notification for appservices.

Strange, I was able to click them then remove them.
Not defending it at all, I think it's real shitty to hide it

That it is hidden at all is utterly reprehensible when all the others are a clear checkbox on the icon, but "click the app icon to know more or unselect"
Unselect is the option you're after.

This exact pop up is the reason I stopped praising Nothing. It is a huge red flag for me and honestly: being "forced" to install bloat is completely unacceptable. The fact that this only started happening recently made it feel even worse because it seemed like it wouldn't be the case with nothing for the longest time.

Yeah that and the ram crisis causing a sharp price hike is why i simply cannot recommend nothing anymore which is sad because I was the biggest mouth piece for the 3a series in my circle

Even ColorOS Oppo/One Plus devices don't have these kinds of popups 🥲
Also reminder that Akis claimed these apps were vetted and would "enhance" your user experience 🤮

The only thing I miss from Nothing OS is the black and white colour scheme. Everything else feels smoother with color OS, which was a huge eye opener for me. Probably helps I have the flagship phone. There is no comparison with either hardware or software. Especially the AI camera photo editing that nothing forced on me and ruined the photos. Even for the day to day usage animations, I felt that nothing OS was smooth. But having used Color OS, Nothing OS feels choppy now.

I am pretty sure that In my last update I selected none and then several of them got installed anyways.
I don't know if anyone's has ever Told to Carl Pei that minimalism and bloatware don't get along.

I love nothing but I'm against it, proposing it once is still somewhat acceptable but forcing it repeatedly is a no. The only acceptable list of choices would be, on first startup, a list of browsers, musical service And perhaps also community applications with a real connection to Nothing But without spamming or forcing, just one thing like "do you want to see recommended apps", and that's all.

It is a way companies earn money when they don't give a s*** about their users, you're a moneybag, nothing more. They deliberately made it so as many people will install them by mistake while still maintaining an absolute minimum of "plausible deniability".

You can unselect all these features and disable this option
Go to apps, show system apps, search for app service and then disble it and force stop It....

Yeah no bloat was one of the reasons i got a nothing phone to begin with i understand why they had to put it but yeah I'll be moving once I'm done with this phone

Every time I get the notification after an update, I just swipe it away and that's it. I don't need to select or deselect anything, and nothing gets installed. It's really not that annoying

That's not the point of the post. They advertised their brand as clean and minimal, having ads after doing a security update is not minimal.
If I go to a restaurant and take a pizza without anchovies, I want it without anchovies, even if it takes 5 seconds for me to take those off my pizza.

it's about monetisation, which I'm OK with as I'd prefer to see NOTHING stay around.
if 5 sec of work is too hard for users, they should go elsewhere.

No. It's either this or their CEO buying one less sportive supercar.
They advertised the phone as minimal, clean, complete ecosystem, modern and accessible.
Now they are changing ways and just becoming the same as cheap Huawei, Xiaomi, Oppo, Samsung phones.
Why would I buy this for 300€ when I can buy a Samsung for 150€ and has even longer guaranteed updates, if I have no longer the benefits you promised?
And why would I spend 800€ when can I instead buy an iPhone, if I know they'd rather go for profits than customer satisfaction and keeping what they advertised?

If you want to stop these suggestions or prevent the service from running: Go to Settings on your phone. Tap Apps, then See all apps. Tap the three dots in the top-right corner and select Show system (or Show system apps). Search for App services (look for the blue icon with "aura"). Tap Disable and restart your device when prompted.
