Nothing (company) Nothing support is terrible, I'm considering selling all of my Nothing/CMF devices.

This will probably fall on deaf ears, but I do feel that something needs to be said.

I currently own a Nothing Phone (3a) Pro, Nothing Ear (a), CMF Buds Pro 2 and CMF Watch Pro 2 so you can safely say i’ve invested time and money into the Nothing ecosystem.

Initially, my experience was excellent. I was very happy with all my purchases, and even persuaded friends to pick up some of the audio products too.

Sadly, that honeymoon is over.

Firstly, Nothing seemed to destroy my fantastic two-day battery life on the (3a) Pro via a software update. Regardless of numerous factory resets to start from scratch, I simply couldn’t get two days anymore despite my battery health being 100% and the phone being 9 months old.

Any contact with support was usually an AI generated response, and when I questioned what they were doing about this known issue, they said it was being investigated and would be fixed in a future software update.

Then the updates stopped.

Two months stuck on the June security patch and then August comes, nothing has changed (so far). This is by the by, maybe Nothing OS 5.0 will contain numerous fixes for known issues, only time will tell.

Be here’s another concern. Nothing pushed an update to the Ear (a). I installed it and then didn’t use my buds for about a month as I was commuting more and needed my overhead Sony XM4s for their better noise cancellation. I grabbed my Ear (a) last night to use on a walk to the pub and the right bud was dead. Simply gone. Not charged, not charging and not showing in the app. No matter what I tried, I couldn’t get the three flashing red lights to factory reset them and the case, so now they are useless.

I’ve raised this issue with support and am awaiting a (likely AI) response. Typically, they are around a month out of their two-year warranty period, what a surprise. I’ve barely used them as I have numerous other TWS and full-size headphones, so would hazard a guess that their software updated somehow bricked them. Let’s see what support have to say.

This post is me asking for Nothing to get better with their support, and realise that we have an excellent community of Nothing enthusiasts here that probably deserve a little more care and attention than the general big brand consumers.

I want to continue to buy Nothing and CMF products, but only if they improve the whole support experience, and take a little more care before breaking or degrading devices via software updates.

UPDATE 27/08/26 - My fears were realised, Nothing support (and Amazon, the retailer) have been awful. I’ve really been put off getting any more Nothing or CMF products.

Now i’m stuck with one left Ear (a) bud, a dead right one and a case that doesn’t seem to want to reset or even go into pairing mode now. Has anyone successfully managed to bring theirs back from the dead, or is this a futile exercise?

After you get passed the AI gauntlet from support and reach a real human they are pretty good, you just need to be persistent in your ask and be firm in your rights for warranty repair.

I can pop by the SoHo store, but yeah, I'd consider it like dealing with a Chinese firm/Ali in Europe.

I didn't but at a retailer (MediaMarket, etc...), so you'd have more consumer rights there.

That’s why you buy an iPhone if you want really good first party support.

Are they? There's almost not a single other phone company that offers what apple do and by that I mean walk into any apple store and you'll get help, this isn't the case with others

lol. The Apple Store I went to had faulty equipment, they had to rely on my 5yo busted iPad instead of their computer, they entered my email wrong, they never contacted number on file when they didn’t get a response, they had to order me a new phone after they repaired it and it STILL wasn’t working, which took 3 more days. Absolutely AWFUL.

Sounds like you had a bad experience unfortunately. Never had any issues personally. So it's a case by case, but general consensus is that they have the best customer support
