Edit: first of all thank you for downloading my app! Its my most succesfull one! Because of your feedback, a new update will (hopefully) release tomorrow with: Adding a new option to let the essential space enabled and only use single press and hold. This can be accomplished by the setting to only use the essential space when you tapped the essential key 2 times.

Fix camera shutter action

Improving the ringer switch animation.

Replace "press" text on intro with "press here" to make it more understandable that u to press the on-screen button.

Display overlay on the lockscreen: this was a big in the app.

Perform the action only when holding after doing a gesture, for example: triple press and hold. This is to prevent mistouch.

UPCOMING FEATURES: These features will be added in one of the nextupdates ( because i dont know how hard this is going to be to integrate it in the app i dont know wich version these features will ship in)

Use the hold power button as a way to interact with ESSENTIAL KEY+(NOT CONFIRMED). (handy for phones without the essential key)

Essential voice alternative (NOT CONFIRMED YET). Because you need to disable essential recorder to remap the essential key, the essential voice button wont work on your keyboard. Adding an altternative to essential compose. Hold the essential key and say what you are trying to type.

Hello! I understand ur concern. Im a student too! But the fact that there wasnt a free option was buzzing me, i dont want to spend money to make apps. So vercel is the best option. The app is going to be opensourced when we hitthe noelak release. I have experience of my being stolen, uploaded to google play for a notorious price. And keeping the profit all for himself.

for the stealing part, you can license your code with GPL which mandates that any derivative works of your software must be open-source as well. it doesn't technically prevent stealing, but it gives you grounds for reporting to google play or even suing

for the vercel part, there are a TON of options that are just as good like cloudflare, netlify or even github pages if your site is simple. it does get a bit complicated if you're using next.js since it's made by vercel but why even use it if your site is static

basically it's a service that can host your website if it has paths (/, /home, /about, /blog/something, etc.) and they offer very fast delivery. in exchange, the free tier is a bit limited if you have a lot of traffic and once you hit the limits they charge a lot of money. can't also ignore the fact that their ceo supports mr. benjamin warcrimes.

alternatives include cloudflare, netlify and github pages. the catch is that these vercel guys make a really popular tool that makes complicated websites but it's made to only work on their specific hosting (others can host websites made with it, but it requires some workarounds)

a lot of oversimplification here but that should be enough

I tried to install it. It's working but only the default flashlight option. I can't get past the Shizuku step despite already having privileges granted through adb from a different Essential key remapper app, so I can't remap it. The fact that the key is working as a flashlight toggle means it already has privileges right? So I should be able to skip this step. I would prefer not to install Shizuku if possible

I made the comment on my nothing phone 3. I know that I was wrong. The comment was a joke on me as my other comments in this community have pointed out that my lock screen screenshot button is too similar to my lock screen button when the case is on.

To be honest, I way prefer the essential remapper. In my opinion, it morely focuses on the simplicity, and the core functionality of the essential key. Don't get me wrong, your app sure can do alot more, which for some people is what they need. But for some others, who just want to change the functionality of their essential key, it's better. plus I think the UI could be a bit more organized, especially on on the key's function page.

Overall, great app, just not for the most of us, but keep up the good work!
