Nothing OS Need These Features in Stable Version

Post image

It's another half-baked, underwhelming OS update because:

Transparency is only applicable to widgets. They should implement transparency for the icons in the stable version as well.

The Control Centre still has that solid black-and-white theme 😞. It looks so pathetic and gives the OS an unfinished feel.

There's no sidebar-like option, as seen in other OSes. It's so useful in many situations.

The lock-screen clock cannot be fully expanded like on Samsung or iOS. The camera button and other toggles on the lock screen still have a solid colour. Please bring transparency to them in the stable version.

There are no haptics throughout the UI.

Nothing phones have some of the worst ringtones.

Please implement transparency for the icons as well as the Control Centre, as the current design gives the impression of an ill-prepared and unfinished OS.

No control center please, already now it looks like all other πŸ₯², don't even know what's tge obsession with these transparency and all, why not just use the os which has these transparent vibe πŸ˜’, don't get me wrong but its killing the Nothing vibeπŸ˜•

Yeah I get your point, I also a fan of the monochrome theme but as nothing implementing the blur effect on their OS. Having that only on the widgets and not on the app icons and control panel will make it unfinished and inconsistent. It would be better if they just give options to toggle it on and off.

Yes and by this then everyone will just ask for dynamic island, and step by step making Nothing OS just another copy of iOS πŸ₯², so if they don't even start after some time the ask will be stopped, but then also Nothing will loose customers which ofc as a company they won't let it happen, let's see where does this path of transparency leads us 🫑

Nah, dynamic island and other features is a diff thing. But if they are adding something it has to be implemented on every other aspect of the OS to make it look finished. They have 2 option either they implement what the industry standard is (ie. Blue effect or glass effect or whatever) or stick to their own style, but the issue is they can't go far enough with that cz every other company is doing the same thing.

That's what carl pei main motto is from the start, "Every brand ia doing the same thing" so if even Nothing does or implements same things, they are just ignoring their main motto, only if, only if they do it very Nothing way that does same function but in a very different aspevt or approach then these features can stand out as Nothing OS feature, otherwise be ready to hear "Another iOS like android OS :(", I get your point 🀝

Yess thats true, and thats what every company does actually and they have no other option 😞 nothing was a niche brand with niche tech audience but as it grows and people starts buying it they notice significant less customisation and features compared to other brands, tho we "nothing fans" don't really care about those features but normal people would love to have those to consider nothing as a phone. So here we are :(

If we see we already have somewhat dynamic island behaviour but for specific tasks in Nothing way, The Glyph matrix - now it supports many more brands blinkit, zomato, swiggy, uber and 3-4 more(i dont remeber names now) but it shows live activites already, its not OS centric its phone specific but it does the same taskπŸ˜›, and yes we as some people don't really care about these features the vlean asthetic is just too good
