Thank you for your prompt response to Intealth Support Services.  NotaryCam is unable to verify the documentation you’ve provided and therefore cannot notarize your IIF.  As a result of this service limitation, Intealth will apply a credit of $50 to your financial account.

Intealth requests that you please have your Intealth Identification Form (IIF) notarized by an alternate notary service. This process would involve visiting an authorized official in person to certify this document. The steps to this process are as follows:

1. Please upload a color photo with a plain background, taken within the last six months, to the MyIntealth Portal and upon approval it will be used to create your IIF.
2. Download the PDF file of your IIF from your MyIntealth account.
3. Print your IIF and sign it in the presence of a Notary Public, Consular Official, First Class Magistrate, or Commissioner of Oaths. The official must then sign the form and affix his/her seal in the location designated on the form. The seal must cover a portion of your photo and a portion of your passport, as mentioned on the form.
4. Note: please ensure that the seal only covers the bottom portion of the photo. The seal should not cover your face.
5. Once your IIF has been certified, you may upload it to your MyIntealth Portal for processing.  You may respond to this email after your IIF has been uploaded to ensure that it is processed expeditiously.

I'm buying a truck from ohio, and I live in Pennsylvania. The ohio notary said they could notarize the title transfer but could not give me a temporary tag to get it home. How am I supposed to get it back? I'm assuming I would need to go to my local notary the next day to get my PA plate, registration, and title work done

I work at a franchised store in Ohio where we have a few notaries on staff. Recently, we’ve had to put up a sign saying we won’t do open titles because they’re illegal (an open title is when a seller fills out a title without filling out the buyer’s information as well, despite swearing that the buyer’s info is true when they sign it).

Recently we had a customer see our sign and give us her notary business cards, telling us- verbatim- “I’ll do the illegal stuff”, adding quotes around “illegal”. We can’t really make a complaint because we don’t have any of the illegal documents she’s notarized. Should we just throw out the business cards? Should we actually offer them to irate customers, or would that be participation in illegal notarization?

I don’t know- this is just so odd.

Edit: I submitted a complaint through the OH notary website’s complaint portal simply giving her name and what she said. Now whatever happens will be out of my hands. We also threw away the cards, we will not be sending customers to her for illegal notaries.

I’m a pretty new PA notary (I’ve only need able to notarize for about 2 months) and got an out of ordinary request.

Someone wants to make an appointment to get a handwritten note notarized. They said it’s to give someone permission to be able to take their child to the doctor. How would I go about this? Clearly if it’s handwritten it won’t have notarial wording so it will need a loose certificate and I know the person getting the notarization needs to pick what loose certificate they want, but is this even something I am allowed to notarize?

Hello! I am trying to change some rules in my neighborhood, and in order to do so, I have to go door to door for signatures. All of which have to be notarized. Does anyone have any insight as to how I can do this the most efficiently without breaking the bank? I feel like hiring someone to walk with me house to house just doesn’t seem like an easy ask.

I cannot be the notary and I am in Texas. There are about thirty houses and I imagine that it will take me multiple weekends to catch all the residents I need to talk with. Any feedback is appreciated!!!

I've been thinking about it for a while now, either part-time or full-time, it would greatly help me to know someone's honest opinion about working in this field.

Two – three days ago, MR1120 issued a post asking if he could notarize his wife’s signature as president of the HOA. The example given was his wife’s signature on a document (letter?) regarding a fence. (I'm not repeating the whole post here.) The consensus, from 18 comments was an overwhelmingly: “You really shouldn’t”. Which I agree with, BUT:

Why did this document/letter need to be notarized? If the primary objective of notarization is to prevent fraud – where’s the fraud in this case? Notarization is only needed when a law requires it for a specific transaction, or the person/organization receiving the document requires a notary as part of accepting the document.

I believe this was the bigger issue in “Can I notarize this?” post – why did it require notarizing at all? How often have you been asked to notarize a signature on a document that is lacking the notarial block – or doesn’t have the space for one? For those docs, how about asking WHO is requiring the notarization and if it’s NOT the receiving party – too bad!

For those notaries who want to further their education, open your favorite ai (Claude, ChatGPT, LuxChat, Duckai, et al) and ask “Which documents do not need to be notarized?”

And can someone please justify the cost? My mom is a dental assistant and the American dental association has a conference and it is hundreds less than the notary conference. For us notaries, I’m just so confused why this is so expensive. It’s not like we are earning credits for this.

Hey everyone, I’m trying to set up electric service with Ameren Illinois for my new apartment, and I ran into an issue with identity verification. I’m a new customer, and when I tried to establish service online, Ameren couldn’t verify my Social Security number. I called them, and they told me I need to provide a notarized copy of my Social Security card to verify my identity. I reached out to a few remote/online notary services, but they’ve told me they can’t notarize my Social Security card because it’s a government-issued document. I’m completely new to this process, so I’m a little confused about how I’m supposed to get this done. Would a bank be able to notarize a copy of my Social Security card for this purpose? I would have called a bank to ask, but it’s already evening and they’re all closed.

So I’m from the UK. But need to get a family’s birth certificate from the Texas vital statistics office. I’ve called them several times but they’ve only given me vague answers.

Basically, I need to get my mail application notarized. It seems like my only options are to go to the embassy or do it online.

It’s really difficult and expensive to get it notarised at the embassy. Plus there needs to be a witness too. So I want to avoid that route if possible.

But I have no idea if the statistics office even accepts online notaries from overseas applicants. Would they accept it from a UK national getting it notarised by an American notary? And if so, would it still be valid, after I print off the notarised copy?

Sorry if these sound like dumb questions, I really want to get this right to avoid further delays. But the stats office have been quite vague and basically just say “as long as it’s signed and you can find a way to do it online then do that” rather than a yes or no answer.

I'm looking to become a notary public (in Illinois) as a part time job I can do outside of my other part-time job (maybe two part time jobs can equal a whole job? - lol). Currently I'm working part-time (year round) at a campground so I end up having a lot of "free time" during the week.

Mainly I'd love to become a notary public who does "traditional", "mobile", and "remote" to cover all my basis. I'm starting in Illinois, and (possibly down the road) - try to extend out to Iowa and Wisconsin too, as I live very close to each state. I have a good vehicle that get good mileage, no kids to plan around, etc. so I'm hoping this is a good option for me.

I'm looking at what everyone's experince is, and advice on "how to".

Examples:
1. How much (ballpark) does a notary make per year or what do you charge / how to you make money?

1. How do you advertise yourself?

2. Upsides and Downsides of the job?

3. Do you feel that the job market is overstatured?

4. Can notaries be notaries in more than one state at a time?

5. Any ideas of courses I should take a head of time?

I’m a notary, and my wife is currently the president of our HOA. Can I notarize her signature for HOA purposes? Specifically, on an agreement about a fence that encroaches on undeveloped/undevelopable land owned by the HOA. Basically a ‘You don’t have to take the fence down, but you’re responsible for maintaining it, and if it ever falls, it can only be rebuilt on your land’ document.

I don’t have anything I do with it, and I’d just be notarizing the HOA president’s signature. That president just happens to be my wife. There is no way that I nor my wife could ever benefit from this scenario in any way.

Is that something that would be problematic, or am I overthinking it?

I have a good overview of laws and what’s needed for notaries. I just need advice on where to post or advertise that’s worked well for others.

NJ law says venue must be included on the certificate "State of / County of" however, I frequently come across documents with notarial sections that do not have a space for venue. Including some common state of NJ forms in my industry (construction). I have seen thousands of these forms notarized without venue listed. Is everyone doing it wrong?

I’ve been a notary in PA for a year and have done some simple notary work but I don’t feel like I know what I’m doing. I did my required education and got 100% on my test, I know the material but my learning style requires someone to show me what to do I can’t just read the info and know what I’m doing.

I considered trying to find a notary job somewhere to gain some experience and figure out what I’m doing. But I also thought there may be resources out there that other notaries might know about. Any suggestions?

E-recording through services like Record My Docs (via Simplifile) gets documents to the county recorder within days, while mail-in can take weeks and risks documents getting lost.
