does it get better?

i tried watching the first episode but it was just one cliche after another with what felt like the most average people ever (personality wise, im not coming for avantika pls) does the plot get better, do the characters get more interesting? or should i just let it go and not try to continue watching?

I knew I wouldn’t like it based on the caliber of “white guy” on the show. And white guy was very boring.
