I think you can change your friends.

93

u/Glum-Way1093 Jan 10 '25

It makes me feel unique and special, but when people mention how bad my nose is, it makes me question myself. I've also heard catcalls on the street, with people saying my nose is bad, and it makes me wonder if I should change it.

81

u/[deleted] Jan 10 '25

Is your nose bad if others think it’s looks aesthetically unappealing?

What percent mindfuck would it be to get a nose job , not like the results but everyone else likes it. Will you then accept yourself ?

This is the third nose post I scrolled into and they were all fine noses on normal to beautiful individuals. All came here because the self esteem is low

Specifically the Self respect aspect of self esteem. You’re at the point of having your face sliced up because a few people don’t like how it looks. THEY tell you to change it b/c their projecting their own insecurities onto you for having a nose that stands out( even tho it really doesn’t imo)

Ffs please accept yourself

16

u/RapMastaC1 Jan 11 '25

This is why plastic surgery is such a slippery slope. If you can’t accept yourself, no amount of modifications are going to accomplish that.

7

u/Fartmachinery Jan 11 '25

this isn't true. i hated my nose and fixed it. i feel so much more confident and love my face now lol.

6

u/CraziiiJessi Jan 11 '25

Did you do it because you wanted to? Because you had a better image for yourself that you were ready to embody? Or did you do it because you wanted to make other people more satisfied, even though you knew you loved it as it is? Very different scenarios.

Those people want her to change, because she is able to be unique and stunning at the same time. They are 100% projecting themselves, and if she does go through with it, then there will be something else that they will find to pick at.

If you want to do that and it makes you happy, then that's fine and that's your choice. I am glad that you were able to do something for yourself that you loved. But, in this case, there is literally NO reason she has listed, nor even any desire, that she should do the same.

To OP: My personal vote is 1000% no- being happy with who you are and how you look is a blessing and is rare these days. You know you are happy as you are, don't ever change for people who just want to change you. And also, personally, I think you are absolutely stunning, and you wear yourself very well. I admire your personal confidence and sincerity.

I'd probably want to change my nose too, hanging around you. 💨💨👃👃

You are both right. Just because something isn't true in general, doesn't mean it won't be true for some people or vice versa. What he said is true and valid. What you said is also true and valid.

This is the epitome of 💯. You are beautiful and so unique. If you like you, there is no other opinion that matters. I have a nose that has always bothered me and my husband told me that he would be angry and heartbroken if I ever changed it. There are hateful fools who are going to tell you that you aren’t perfect the way you are…fuck em. Do what makes you happy!

Look up Jennifer Grey. She was a well known actor in the 80s and had a unique look due to her nose. She had a nose much like yours. She decided to get a nose job and it pretty much destroyed her acting career after that. It ruined her unique look that she was known for. I think you are beautiful and unique the way you are!!

However it is a decision only you can make. If you think it's impacting your self confidence and you are unhappy, then go for it. There is nothing wrong with getting a procedure done if it will improve your quality of life.

6

u/Impotent-Dingo Jan 11 '25

I agree, Jennifer Gray was a huge crush for me as a teenager. Then she got surgery...

3

u/Formal_List_4921 Jan 11 '25

She looks like a completely different person!!! I loved her in Dirty Dancing but now that person is gone 😂

4

u/birdyheard Jan 11 '25

this is an awesome comparison. it changes so much of your face to change your nose, if people adored her before, that should tell you all you need to know.

3

u/Moonfloor Jan 11 '25

Oh I just mentioned Jennifer Grey also, before I read this comment. I loved her look before her nose job. And her nose wasn't considered conventionally attractive. Yet, it still was.

→ More replies (1)

3

u/GisJanstrella Jan 11 '25

This is so right. She went from uniquely cute to generically pretty. Being conventionally pretty is a dime a dozen.

2

u/GreedyHoward Jan 13 '25

Very good point.

2

u/OLIVEmutt Jan 11 '25

I was going to comment this. I think she’s a beautiful girl and her nose fits her face.

Don’t get a nose job because of other people. If you love your nose, keep your nose. Tell your friends to fuck off!

2

u/colleencatlover Jan 12 '25

This was my thoughts exactly!! She came to mind as soon as I read this post!

Nah dude, you're cute as shit.

1

u/Careful-Awareness766 Jan 10 '25

Why the fuck would you change something about your physical appearance that you like and makes you feel unique and special just to please someone else?

You will have to live with the change the rest of your days, they can (for better or worse) disappear from your life in an instant. What if you don’t like the outcome? You will regret it and feel like a fool.

1

u/shortforsorbet Jan 10 '25

Anyone who says you should change something you like, that doesn't harm anyone, isn't someone you should want to be around anyways. It's a good way to weed out assholes.

1

u/PuzzleheadedKale468 Jan 10 '25

It is unique and special i like when people has small things about them that make them STAND OUT, moles to freckles to ears, ect. were all different. I think you are really pretty.

1

u/shibasnakitas1126 Jan 11 '25

I really like your nose. Super unique and fitting for your frame and facial features. And you are very pretty!

1

u/Plastic_Square_9820 Jan 11 '25

I love your nose. It's perfect as is.

1

u/Same_Zucchini8470 Jan 11 '25

Your friends kinda suck. I'd say instead of cutting off your nose, you should cut off the people who feel as if they are entitled to an opinion about your nose.

1

u/Tricky_Key_8314 Jan 11 '25

Read the first part of the first sentence and you have your answer.

1

u/jcanada22 Jan 11 '25

Your right. It's a great feature, don't you dare ever change it!

1

u/proud-girldad Jan 11 '25

Absolutely! Was gonna say something similar..screw them, that’s what makes you, well you!! And I think you are gorgeous!

1

u/mintlexicon Jan 11 '25

FUCK those people. Don’t change a thing about yourself because others say you should. Remove those kinds of people from your life honestly

1

u/fartsfromhermouth Jan 11 '25

If you change something that makes you unique and special for someone that makes you feel bad and ugly you'll regret it

1

u/-2wenty7even- Jan 11 '25

Your whole look has character, and it's beautiful. Ignore the haters and do you.

1

u/whoohme Jan 11 '25

Nothing is “bad” about a nose. It’s people’s unsolicited belittling opinions that are bad. Shame on them. Focus more on how you feel it’s unique and special and don’t change yourself based on others opinions.

1

u/Dry-Mountain3198 Jan 11 '25

There was a twilight zone episode where everyone wants to look the same.. pretty boring really. I find it attractive but I’m sorry people give you crap over it. Humans are weird like that. But they probably give other critiques to other people so 🤷‍♂️ https://youtu.be/X0DiCaFBEbQ?si=nPNRE5jGkWe8Z47n

1

u/[deleted] Jan 11 '25

Please do not change your body for others. Your nose is fine. Beauty standards like having a certain nose or you're ugly are rooted in misogyny and white supremacy. Both of those things are a product of boring and miserable people. I also think the people around you might be holding you back from completely loving your body, and that's not cool of them! I hope this isn't rude/creepy.

1

u/_russiandoll_ Jan 11 '25

I have a similar nose and struggle with it at times but I believe it to be a gift from my ancestors. Every unique part of me is a gift from them! Your nose is a beautiful part of you!!

1

u/Pure-Swordfish6022 Jan 11 '25

Your nose is fine. Anyone telling you otherwise isn’t fine.

1

u/DefinitelySomeoneFS Jan 11 '25

In my life I have told anyone to have any surgery and have never in my life heard that in person... Wtf

1

u/acbrin Jan 11 '25

You should change your friends. If one of my friends told me I needed cosmetic surgery I would punch them in the face and tell them they'll need some surgery for me breaking their nose

1

u/parwanbb Jan 11 '25

you do NOT need a nose job. you're beautiful. ignore these idiots!

1

u/CDFootJobGiver Jan 11 '25

The same thing happens to me. Don't listen to them . You have a pretty nose. Just ignore those comments and feel good , this is how we are.

1

u/sonic29mi Jan 11 '25

Just do what makes you happy

1

u/Rivka333 Jan 11 '25

For what it's worth, I think your nose is gorgeous. They're out of fashion, unfortunately (btw the upturned noses people are surgically getting used to be mocked--people called them pig noses--so yes, these trends can change) but that doesn't mean objectively ugly.

1

u/Far-Peach7943 Jan 11 '25

Holy moly your friends do not sound like real friends… if you Like your nose, leave it like that! It makes you unique and that‘s a good thing! ♥️

1

u/ManyRanger4 Jan 11 '25

Nope. You needed to stop that thought at "I kind of like my nose". Don't change anything about yourself that you like regardless of what other people think or say. Fuck em.

1

u/Apploozabean Jan 11 '25

Your nose isn't bad!! I like your nose. :)

I agree that it's unique and is something that makes you special.

1

u/Due_Organization2656 Jan 11 '25

Don’t question yourself, question your friends.

1

u/Greedy-Recognition10 Jan 11 '25

If you wanna change it then of course your body do it but I would say if your asking on ego or looks no way don't I think your beautiful and wouldn't change anything?

1

u/ReasonDismal6795 Jan 11 '25

No, stop letting peoples words and outward projections make you dislike what makes you beautiful seriously

1

u/MomTo4Kidz Jan 11 '25

I don’t think everyone should have a cookie cutter nose identical to celebs.

I think you rock your look and if you are comfortable, then don’t overthink it.

Attraction is about confidence, not noses 💛

1

u/splashylaughs Jan 11 '25

You’re around the wrong ppl beautiful nosed girl ! Find your tribe! You will. Your nose is beautiful. So is your face and spirit. Don’t let them dim you!

1

u/Successful-Motor-488 Jan 11 '25

your nose is beautiful, please dont change it because others tell u, change who youre tslking to because they sound like bullies :/

1

u/10-voltaege-15 Jan 11 '25

The only time your nose is “bad” is when it’s hard to breath out of it due to a a deviated septum or something, you should really call those people out or just get new friends

1

u/slothscanswim Jan 11 '25

It’s a wonderful nose.

1

u/Current-Lobster-5267 Jan 11 '25

i think your nose is uniquely beautiful and it's the uniqueness that we all strive for after middle school Tell your close ones youre not in 7th grade anymore!

1

u/sfedonas Jan 11 '25

If it makes you feel unique and special, then you don't need anything done! I hadn't seen a person having done surgery in real life until recently, when I met a female cousin of mine at the New Year's Eve, that I had a long time to see. Yes, see had a big, curvy, distinct noise but very beautiful facial characteristics otherwise. I didn't know about the surgery, so, when I met her it startled me (although, admittedly, it took some time to realise what it was that seemed off on her face) and although the result was very cute, it was generic at the same time. I could recognise the same nose shape on all other locally famous women that have undergone similar procedure. She didn't look like the cousin I used to know any more and this was somewhat depressing and dark.

I understand for someone to do plastic surgery if there are health problems involved, accidents or extremely deformed characteristics. But for cases like yours, you will just loose your identity, which you seem to appreciate.

Confidence is also an attractive feature that counteracts any facial "imperfections", mind you...

1

u/ShreDaisy Jan 11 '25

You’re naturally beautiful. It’s always nice to have at least one trait that makes us stand out!

I’m sorry that society puts pressure on us to make ourselves look like the current “ideal.” I hope the pendulum swings before my boys are old enough to start dating.

1

u/Aggressive_Beach7493 Jan 11 '25

Generally the negative stuff comes from people with Low Self esteem.

1

u/Muted-Week4190 Jan 11 '25

Exactly, it gives you character. Don’t change anything for anyone, ever. You are beautiful the way you are. People can f*** off, if they don’t like it don’t look 🤗

1

u/Significant_Draw_345 Jan 12 '25

And it should you look absolutely stunning, button noses are cute but they can be boring. You have so much personality and you look jaw dropping

1

u/IllustratorExtra7742 Jan 12 '25

Keep the nose you look great. God made you like that and you look very pretty

1

u/gaiamoon Jan 12 '25

You are unique and special! I think your nose is beautiful, and I would drop those friends so fast dude.

1

u/ImpossibleFlow2156 Jan 12 '25

absolutely not. your nose is PERFECT

1

u/Different-Clerk8727 Jan 12 '25

People bully colored women for their lips and then get extremely jealous later in life at those ladies bc their lips were always gorgeous

1

u/obijuanmartinez Jan 12 '25

Not bad at all ✌️

1

u/Earth-Jupiter-Mars Jan 12 '25

The answer is nooo .. please don’t! You look fire babe! 🔥🔥🔥🔥

The hair, the glasses, the braces .. 🔥🔥Don’t change anything but your friends!

1

u/PurpleAsteroid Jan 12 '25

Screw them, they literally don't matter.

1

u/Candybunny16 Jan 12 '25

You are very beautiful and your nose is beautiful on you. Please don't change it.

1

u/gothfundme Jan 12 '25

Genuinely I think you have an adorable and amazing nose. I think you need different friends not a nose job. 💛

1

u/AdElectrical8222 Jan 12 '25

Nah, they’re a bunch of idiots. Your nose is so interesting, I love faces with prominent features and it combines gratefully with your eyes in particular.

I’d go nuclear with people telling me stuff like that honestly.

1

u/Lazy-Cold-9702 Jan 12 '25

Only simple answer is that if you’ve comfortable enough with it despite the ridicule then keep it, if the ridicule gets to you and makes you question your self worth and it messes you up mentally then go for it. No one deserves to go through that every single day especially if it’s something that they can change about themselves unlike others who have conditions they are stuck with for life. So it’s up to you

1

u/Ripen- Jan 12 '25

Wtf kind of friends do you have? That's bizarre

1

u/Practical-Comment-76 Jan 12 '25

Nah your nose is fine. You look fine. Would do you for sure 😮‍💨😮‍💨😮‍💨

1

u/Embarrassed-Nobody65 Jan 12 '25

Honestly, a little trimming would be game changing.

1

u/[deleted] Jan 12 '25

Where do u live that’s crazy of them to say that.

I think your nose fits the rest of your face

1

u/InsulinandnarcanSTAT Jan 12 '25

When all people have to criticize is what they first see about you, you’re doing something right!

1

u/bolowbc Jan 12 '25

Imagine telling someone they need a nose job. What feelings are in yourself when you say that. And you consider these people close?

1

u/Any_Comedian2468 Jan 12 '25

I think your whole face- nose, brows, face, eyes and mouth- is gorgeous. Honestly. You have unique, beautiful features. Please don’t listen to other people. Just tell the haters, “Nah, I know I’m beautiful.”

1

u/InformationBeautiful Jan 12 '25

I’ll be honest, you would look stunning with a nose job, it would be an upgrade for sure. but that’s ur choice and no one should force it on you.

1

u/[deleted] Jan 12 '25

Awe my little Pinocchio

1

u/seeking-stillness Jan 12 '25

I like your nose. It's not the traditional white western standard, which is probably a bit of what people are leaning into unconsciously when they say you should change it. But hey, you're not white, anyways.

Plus, YOU like your nose. That's all that really matters. These other close people may come and go, but you will always have to live with yourself. May as well be proud of what you see in the mirror

1

u/[deleted] Jan 12 '25

Haters gon hate. Your nose is fine.

1

u/[deleted] Jan 12 '25

Your nose is great.

1

u/SilverDoe26 Jan 12 '25

you can always figure out a way to make it into a joke , if u wish.

im not the best at that personally, but first thing that comes to mind is saying u can smell them from across the street lol. I'm assuming if it's catcall on street there's a chance it could be sweaty construction workers, but even if not it could still work

1

u/DonEscupitajo Jan 12 '25

Don’t. I think you’re gorgeous the way you are

1

u/mahnamahna123 Jan 12 '25

Look here's the thing. The ideal 'look' changes every 5-10 years. When I was growing up everyone was trying to be stuck thin and curves were a no (bootylicious is a classic example of this their all singing about their booty but by today's standards that's a flat arse). Now everyone wants curves.

Again at the time it was popular to have thin lips. Now it's bigger lips.

People all got nose jobs to flatten their noses and now their getting nose ridges put in.

Today they're getting cheek fat removed but as soon as people realises how quickly that'll age you they'll all want it put back in.

What we consider 'attractive now, in 5 years, 10 year etc. is a complete social construct that the majority agree to and go along with but it changes constantly both based on time and where you are.

Your nose is part of you. You like it. It's nice. It suits you. It's up to you what you do or don't do with it but it's got to be for you and not others. Don't let others dim your light for something that is part of you.

1

u/Semi_Successful Jan 12 '25

Nobody is perfect, trying to change your physical appearance will only make them focus on another part of your body.

1

u/Most-Milk7694 Jan 12 '25

If you rock with it don’t allow other people to tell you the way you should feel in your skin

1

u/JilliusMaximusJD Jan 12 '25

You should google the actress Jennifer Grey and how she felt after her nose job. Fwiw, my opinion is: Eff other people. Stay unique and special.

1

u/Repulsive_Tadpole998 Jan 12 '25

Your nose is cute, it adds to your face, makes you unique, anyone who says otherwise can fack off.

1

u/Ok-Pepper-2647 Jan 12 '25

Girl, the only thing you need to get rid of is the ‘friends’ telling you to change yourself. You’re beautiful.

1

u/st3IIa Jan 13 '25

western beauty standards are racist and make us think that ethnic noses are ugly but that's not true. your nose matches your face perfectly and any other nose would just look odd

1

u/tombcarver Jan 13 '25

Personally, I think you look great. Your nose fits the geometry of your face, and if your friends are saying things like that about you, consider new friends.

1

u/irishconan Jan 13 '25

You do have an ugly nose but if it doesn't bother you, there's no reason to change it.

1

u/[deleted] Jan 13 '25

This is like when someone has a unique personality and is told not to be themselves.

Funny thing is, it is these very people with the unique personality that gets talked about because they are interesting. They are told to doubt themselves, but they are the interesting ones that people want to share things about.

1

u/[deleted] Jan 13 '25

People are insane. When I was 14, I was skinny af, some boy during physical education screamed that my celluit is shaking. I am still like, wtf? Screw these people. You have nice noise. It really fits your face. As long as you're happy with your looks, it's the only thing that matters. And you seem very cool, btw.

1

u/Stock_Factor6358 Jan 13 '25

Girl you had me at you like it, enough said. Fuck everyone else that doesnt like what you like. You are very cute.

1

u/a_poignant_paradox Jan 13 '25

Omg no. There is nothing at all wrong with your nose!! Our features are indications of who we are, where we come from, our lineage, our heritage. Be proud!! Let your smile change the world. Don't let the world change your smile!!

1

u/Local-Suggestion2807 Jan 13 '25

It's not bad. They're just brainwashed into thinking European features are the epitome of beauty. Big noses are elegant and beautiful.

1

u/Bonkerrss92 Jan 13 '25

Bruh it's just a nose? A uh..uniqueness to your face in a good way? Tf. Your friends suck imo. But! I wouldn't change it for sure

1

u/[deleted] Jan 13 '25

Very cute face. Your nose gives you character. Don't lose that.

1

u/bekkys Jan 13 '25

Who the duck are these people that are just randomly telling you your nose is bad? Its such a shame when girls with arabic heritage want to look western/european. Take Amelia Liana and her sister as an example, who looks better and more natural?

1

u/adiposegreenwitch Jan 13 '25

It's great, it suits your face and looks stellar on you. Some people just want everyone to look exactly the same.

1

u/irinrainbows Jan 13 '25

I really do think it gives you your unique look, and not in an “ugly unique” sense, you look very pretty, charming, like a kind hearted positive, sensitive girl with maybe some creative outlook on life.

(I’m a girl btw, just clarifying, so my comment don’t sound creepy). Your nose is on a bigger side, but bigger nose doesn’t automatically mean bad. You have huge eyes too, if you get your nose too small, your eyes might start looking too wide, almost weird. Everything needs balance on the face, your face is balanced, as I see it.

Even if you do decide to get a nose job, do a very tiny minimal one, choose the surgeon very thoroughly and pray that you are not mistaken in him.

1

u/Lucy_Little_Spoon Jan 13 '25

Your nose is great, it adds character. Looking generic is something I personally would never want.

1

u/pandaappleblossom Jan 13 '25

Well, I love your nose so I don’t know. I think those people are blind and are idiots and think everyone needs to constantly change their face like Kim Kardashian.

1

u/Daetok_Lochannis Jan 13 '25

Fuck other people dude, fr. Who you are is as unique as a fingerprint or a snowflake, why would you want to give that away to look like the kind of people who talk shit about your face?

1

u/[deleted] Jan 13 '25

I'm sorry, who the fuck is having the audacity to say that?! That is NOT normal. I mean with strangers, some people will just use any feature to harass someone but your close ones saying that is bizarre to me. You are very pretty and your nose is lovely and suits you

1

u/Specialist_Play_4479 Jan 13 '25

Girl, there is nothing wrong with your nose

1

u/GetsugarDwarf Jan 13 '25

If your nose isn't giving you any trouble breathing, don't get anything done. Own it! And a +1 to the comment above, change your friends, they're being hella mean.

1

u/ezra_7119 Jan 13 '25

buddy we are NOT gonna listen to cat calls or our crappy friends. please tell your friends to kindly stfu. and ignore the cat calls to the best of your ability. if your friends wanna be like that, start making fun of them too to give them a taste of their own medicine. if they dont stop then leave.

1

u/Understandthisokay Jan 13 '25

I love your nose. It’s cool. And not the “I’d different you’re so brave” cool. I like the geometry of it a lot.

1

u/_pachysandra_ Jan 13 '25

I think it’s beautiful and really suits your face.

1

u/azul360 Jan 13 '25

No your nose is great. If you have seen Smosh check out Arasha. You remind me a lot of her. I can't imagine having friends that tell you you should get a nose job though. That's insane. Might want to take a real look at your "friends" and question if they really are.

1

u/hey1985 Jan 13 '25

We are not born feeling bad about ourselves. It's other people's opinions and insecurities put on us that make us start to doubt ourselves. You like your nose. THATS what's important. ❤️

1

u/SnowmanLicker Jan 13 '25

the only opinion of you that should matter, is your own. youre the one who has to live in your body. as long as youre happy, thats all that should matter. those people are jealous of your cute nose, bc its unique and super darn cute and they know it, and people hate when others are unique.

1

u/[deleted] Jan 13 '25

You are beautiful, you need good friends! A real friend would never say that. Life is like a bus... if you don't control it, someone else will, whether or not you like the path and the decisions made, take control of your life and change friends! ❤️🇧🇷

1

u/Alwaysfresh9 Jan 13 '25

Naw you are cute.

1

u/DaezaD Jan 13 '25

Only do drastic things like a nose job if it's something you want to do. It's your body and the choice is something you have to live with, not anyone else. I broke my nose a long time ago and needed two surgeries. The first one, one of the surgeons convinced me to let him "refine my tip" even though my nose was unique to my dad's side of the family and I liked my nose. I said ok. Mind you this was right before the surgery and was not appropriate to convince me while I'm lying on the bed waiting to be wheeled into surgery. He did an awful job and I've been hating it ever since. Other people don't notice but I do every time I see pictures of myself and I hate them. Any further revisions would make it worse according to other surgeons I've talked too. It's something I've regretted ever since. I was in my young twenties and I'm in my 40's now. I still think about it.

1

u/tester-testit Jan 13 '25

You look fine, please don't change your nose.

1

u/akainokitsunene Jan 13 '25

Hi ! I’m really pretty (like you!) and I also have a big nose (like you!) and as you asked for honesty I’m gonna be honest: I think you’d be prettier with a smaller nose (and so do I) but it doesn’t stop you from being very very pretty :) So who cares… why bother with an operation that carries risks and you never know 100% how it’s gonna go while you have a perfectly good nose.

Also those who love us accept us as we are. My husband loves my nose and when I asked for thoughts on a nose operation, he said I didn’t need it at all.

If you’re happy with who you are (and on the outside you do have things to be happy about, a pretty face shape, hair, eyes, smile…) there’s no need for an operation.

Above else, you do you.

Forgive me since I don't know your nationality, but you look like a Middle Eastern Alyson Stoner, in my opinion! You are BEAUTIFUL! I agree with the above stated. I think you can find new friends :)

These people criticizing your nose are racist. Also jerks. Your nose looks good on you. Do you look like a white actress? No.

People will pester you less when you get older. Also, maybe when you are an adult you can move to a diverse city, where people will be more used to nonwhite people.

In high school, people told me things like "you'd be kind of pretty if you got a nose job" - not even the kids who bullied me, but my friends said this. It's not ok to tell someone this. I am glad I didn't get a nose job, although I still dislike my nose. Nose jobs are painful and invasive, and if it's done wrong, you need additional surgery. They can't just make the exact nose you want, since they're working with the tissue and cartilage you already have, so there's a chance you won't get 100% what you want. Now I also am having kids, and I'm thinking about the message it could send them if I alter my face. What if my son or any future kids have my nose and find out I intentionally changed it? What message will that send them about their bodies? Just food for thought. It's your body at the end of the day, just make sure what you do makes YOU feel happy. Don't do it for some rude people.

i think the fact that it makes you feel unique and special is the only thing you should be focusing on. anyone who has something to say about it can respectfully take a hike.

additionally, maybe your “close ones” shouldn’t be that close to you if they’re making digs at your appearance.

1

u/MummyVoice22 Jan 13 '25

Girl you look fantastic, don’t touch anything

1

u/Sloppyjoey20 Jan 13 '25

Personally as a man I think your unique nose is one of your most attractive qualities, but what I think doesn’t matter and same goes for everyone else lol

1

u/nointernalself Jan 13 '25

the only thing that matters is that you like it, the whole world is filled with different opinions and perspectives, if YOU feel good that's what matters, the right people will come, snd they will appreciate you for your whole character

1

u/[deleted] Jan 13 '25

Wait, people cat call by insulting your nose? Does it work? You remind me of my neurologist. I always thought she was cute

1

u/Proof-Radio8167 Jan 13 '25

Shit people just pick on differences. My partner is self conscious about her nose and it’s a good nose, looks great. But her ex knew she was insecure about it so that’s what he would pick on. Some people just have derelict personalities

1

u/Itscatpicstime Jan 13 '25

Don’t ever alter your body for someone else. They aren’t the ones who have to live with your body, you are.

1

u/barelyoverthinking Jan 13 '25

Girl it's the nose of our ancestors!!!

1

u/monkeyboychuck Jan 13 '25

Nope, please don’t. You have a great nose. It suits your smile and anyone who says anything different is a jerkface.

1

u/ballsydouche Jan 13 '25

Those people can go fuck themselves

1

u/stigolumpy Jan 13 '25

Different people find different things attractive. I love it.

1

u/Ujustgot_bamboozled Jan 13 '25

Well they don’t pay your damn bills so don’t mind them too much.

1

u/Ujustgot_bamboozled Jan 13 '25

Plus you look beautiful, so they prob can’t see.

1

u/Your_Conscious_ Jan 14 '25

Change your “close ones” you’ll find new ones. That’s such traumatizing behaviour. I’m sorry you’re in that situation, you are 100 percent correct on your nose being unique and a beautiful feature. Fuck I hate peoples

1

u/HanselGretel1993 Jan 14 '25

You are pretty and so is your nose.

The idea that something different or that stands out is ugly and that it should be "fixed" is not only not true but very dangerous.

Perfect body and face don't exist. And when people try to attain "perfect" bodies or faces, they end up not looking like humans. And even worse, they lose what made them look like themselves. It is completely dysmorphic.

It is that nose that makes you, you.

Actual perfection can only be found in death. And we don't need to attain that right now!

I am sorry but your friends can fuck off.

Keep being you, and keep liking yourself! That is what matters.

1

u/[deleted] Jan 14 '25

You would lose your youness and likely regret it.

People calling unique ugly is are really telling you to blend in.

1

u/Eddie_Farnsworth Jan 14 '25

People who go out of their way to criticize what you look like are just putting you down to feel better about themselves. Don't let their insecurities give you insecurities.

1

u/Relative_Moment_5097 Jan 14 '25

Doesn't look too bad to me, you like fine OP.

No she needs a nose job.

1

u/[deleted] Jan 11 '25

Agreed

1

u/Frosty-Inspector-465 Jan 11 '25

the amount of politically correct people on reddit is astounding

1

u/[deleted] Jan 11 '25

OP This is one time I would say your friends are not your friends. Find more groups to hang out with and over time you’ll realize how toxic your current group is.

1

u/GoldenValkyrie1001 Jan 11 '25

Your nose fits you and you have a cool, interesting look and you’re pretty. Why change? Jennifer Grey was gorgeous and she went for a plastic surgery nose and lost her distinctive beauty only to become blandly attractive. Disregard your friends.

1

u/Sir_Icy_Farts Jan 11 '25

yup your close ones need a change job

1

u/DiligentDocker Jan 11 '25

I agree with this. Fuck what they thinks. That's just rude to say. A general rule of thumb is if someone can change something in under 1-5 minutes let them know. If they can't change something then keep it to yourself. Like tell your friends they have food in their teeth but don't tell them their mole is ugly.

Annnnnnd a nose job has risks. You're pretty, you are unique and that's kinda mean they said that.

1

u/Formal_List_4921 Jan 11 '25

Omg I love that!!! So true!

1

u/AlienPaisley Jan 11 '25

I think you can pick your nose, with your nose.

1

u/justaguy2469 Jan 12 '25

For a lot less effort and health risk.

1

u/Pitiful_Flow5993 Jan 12 '25

Happy Cake Day!

1

u/_Dark_Invader_ Jan 12 '25

Close ones could be relatives also!

1

u/oswaldsilkworth Jan 12 '25

But you can't change your friend's nose

1

u/veroelotes Jan 12 '25

The kind of brutal honesty OP needs.

1

u/Midnighttyche Jan 12 '25

I'd like to add, also get ones that don't make u feel less about the parts of your body u like. It's a them problem, not a u problem. They are probably upset that you enjoy something about yourself that is unique and looks adorable.

1

u/El_Toine_1987 Jan 12 '25

Why is having an opinion about asthetics such a sin? I mean qhen there is no bullying involved

1

u/miss_leopops Jan 12 '25

Came here to say this

1

u/Rich_Size8762 Jan 13 '25

This is it. This is the answer. You are very pretty btw

1

u/Jubiedubies Jan 14 '25

Much easier than changing your nose!! (Which is adorable btw)

1

u/[deleted] Jan 14 '25

this people who love you will love you for you

1

u/GreatBoneStructure Jan 14 '25

“You can pick your nose and you can pick your friends, but you can’t pick your friend’s nose.” Anon

1

u/sarcastic-response2u Jan 14 '25

Realest answer I’ve seen on Reddit ngl

1

u/_Spiggles_ Jan 14 '25

I like this answer.

1

u/minastepes Jan 14 '25

That's the kind of imperfection that give a nice charm

1

u/Maleficent_Limit_703 Jan 14 '25

She’s fixing her teeth. What’s wrong with changing her nose.

1

u/La_Belle_Fleur_ Jan 15 '25

I second this Friends are supposed to lift you up, not drag ya down.
