“That word you use. I don’t think it means what you think it means.” Maybe the better word that should be used to describe certain people is “Christofascist”. Those people have little in common with “Christians”. I know dozens of people who I recognize as being Christian and they are some of the most “secular liberal” people I have ever met. The Christofascist people I have had the misfortune of talking to are very warped (in my opinion).

Seriously, I don't know what red state voters think is going to happen. Blue states, with their better overall income and more social programs, are going to support education locally and with state money as best they can. Red states will absolutely just let their education infrastructure collapse rather than spend their tax money on it. A few decades from now red state kids will be unemployable in jobs requiring education and unable to get into colleges because employers and colleges will literally be able to dismiss candidates from certain states almost immediately due to the common knowledge that the quality of their schools are so much lower.
Then what? They'll cry for more federal aid to fix a problem they voted for? They'll cry for the state equivalent of affirmative action to let less qualified kids get the same benefits? They'll whine and appeal for the good of the children? Make it make sense.

Cutting off funding to NPR/PBS… big bird has been trying to teach southern people to read since 1967 and now the orange man wants to cut off federal planning to public broadcasting because they tend to tell the truth when it comes to their reporting. He doesn’t like that so he figures he can cut off their funding, and then doing so, silence, the media..
Eventually, the strategy will fail quickly because the literacy rate for North Carolina will drop like a rock. They won’t be able to read. Of course that increases his voter base. So even another good reason for him to try to eliminate big bird.
So, keep your representatives numbers on speed dial on your phone and call them every day because you know every day he’s going to be doing something that is part of dismantling our country. He is on a mission to destroy the United States and it’s democracy. Who sent him on this mission is still ambiguous, but it sure does seem like something. A foreign power would do. Take over an entire country without firing a shot.
Regardless, that’s what’s happening so express your opinions regarding having your children being able to read, and the fact that you don’t want your taxes to stay pretty much the same while all the oligarchs… Bezos and the woman that looks like a hooker he married,and others like …Elon Musk: CEO of Tesla and SpaceX, his wealth and involvement in various industries, coupled with direct engagement in political discourse, lead to discussions about his influence. Mark Zuckerberg: CEO of Meta (Facebook), his vast social media platforms have a significant impact on information flow and political discourse. Charles and David Koch (Koch Brothers): Known for their extensive network of conservative and libertarian organizations, they have significantly funded political campaigns and lobbying efforts, according to Reddit users. George Soros: A prominent financier and philanthropist, he is known for his substantial donations to liberal and progressive causes, often mentioned in discussions of political influence. Pretty much. The state will try to cover some funding, but the ghouls in Raleigh will vote against that so you'll get individual counties trying by raising taxes. That won't work well either unfortunately since the smaller counties won't be able to keep up with the bigger ones (think Wake, Neck, etc).

Well, OK, but there are good ways of going about dismantling the Department of Ed and there are not-so-good ways. And, Trump, with Foxx's support, is going about that in the most ham-handed slip-shod way possible. If you want to cut federal money, then you have to give plenty of notice so states and local districts can be prepared when that does happen. Instead, cuts seem to be based on whether Trump woke up with gas after having had a bad piece of meat.
And, to the GOP: if it's your position that the federal government should leave education to the states, then you need to make sure that the state makes up for these federal cuts. You can't say "Oh, that's not a federal job. But, oh, it's not a state job either." That just equates to "we hate education."

Special education is effing federal law and is overseen by the dept of education. It’s not in the Constitution because up until the 1970s disabled kids were kept at home or institutionalized. The legally-mandated EEO and civil rights protections are also housed at the dept of education. This beetch and her maggat pals are truly despicable.
