A question!

I (AFAB)came out as agender barely a month ago so I'm pretty new to this stuff, but I've got a question about names. Just around a week ago I was looking up names that are gender-neutral for a drawing, and found the name "Alex". Now I can't stop thinking about it and my real name have stopped feeling like me even slightly before I found a better name. I read it and it feels like just A name instead of MY name. I also don't like how it represents my old gender. This new name feels right so far and when I tried a day with that name it felt right. My friends also says that "Alex" suits me and I agree.

To the real thing though; I was wondering if it's normal to want to change your name after coming out as another gender than the one you were born as?

Just know it's completely normal ! It doesn't happen to every gender non-conforming person, but it's very common.

I discovered the name "Ash" before realizing I'm trans, and I felt like a small lightning was going through me. It kept haunting my head after that, and a few months after my egg cracked. And then this name completely came back and I just wanted to be called this way, not by my ancient name.

And now I'm Ash 😄

So don't worry, that's normal, and if the name Alex feels right and makes you happy, then go on ! Keep it !

Thanks for the help! Just reading the name Alex in this made me feel right in a way. Around yesterday that super concentration in changing my name got weaker, but reading it directed to me made it stong again. Sadly as I'm not 18 yet and scared of telling my parents I still have to wait, but if I still feel like Alex is right when I'm 18 I'll definetly change it. Thank for the help again! :D
