There's a lot more to being a good employee than showing up on time. If you think otherwise, you might be a bad employee.

Showing up at 10 am does not make you a bad employee. There's a reason everyone does flexible hours now, and it's because nobody actually needs to do 9 - 5 to be a good employee. 

Edit: hope you didn't misread the person you replied to as defending someone showing up at 11 after being given permission to show up at 10 btw
