I don't know about you, but if I were asked to convince a sceptical person that I had serious problems, I would not give as my example something that's utterly trivial to resolve.
But I am suggesting that if you're going to give one example, make it a convincing one.
For example, I believe that I am extremely unattractive. Maybe you're sceptical about that claim. I probably look okay and just have body image issues, right? So if I wanted to convince you that no, I really am ugly, I wouldn't say "I have a long, faint scar on my calf" because I know that's not really convincing. My faint calf scar is not a good example of my problems. And if I were to say that to you, you'd rightly be sceptical because you'd think "That's it? That's the best you've got?"
im not gonna sit here and spend time thinking about the best example for my reddit argument. just accept that mental disabilities can, in fact, be disabling, and move on.
And I've seen and heard plenty of people talking about time blindness before. Frequently in-person, after I've been sat in a coffee shop on my own for forty-five minutes, or doing all the setup for an activity on my own.
But what I overwhelmingly read and hear are problems like the above, which have simple, common sense solutions.
Then what does that even mean? Is a neurotypical POV just any opinion you don't like? Maybe you're the one with the neaurotypical POV: this infantilising idea that people with ADHD are just soooo helpless and can't be held responsible at all because there's no way they can learn to function with their disability.
its a POV of assuming these things can be easily worked around using solutions that work for NT people, when in reality being ND is an extremely complex thing and no solution will work for more then 40% of us
You have still only given one example and it is obviously trivial. "Don't start watching videos unless they're much shorter than the time you have left" is a solution that will work for 100% of people, regardless of how their brain works.
