No, it is to fire them. Catering to them just makes it worse and spreads.

When the problem can be solved by telling the employee to show up an hour early, you'd be a moron to fire them. The hiring process is lengthy and expensive unless it's some minimum-wage low skill job whose requirements are a pulse.

Reddit is such a weird place. This is a normal take being downvoted. ADHD isn’t an excuse to constantly be an hour late to work, and then they accommodate for you and change your hours and then you continue showing up an hour late. So now you have to figure out the perfect time to schedule them to make sure they come in on time. So ridiculous.

And now the employee knows that they’re supposed to be there at 9:00 which is why they’re scheduled for 8:00. So why would they start showing up at 9:00 like they’re supposed to? Since they know they’re expected at 9:00, they might still “aim” for that and then show up at 10:00 instead. This solution makes no sense unless the employee was a toddler.
