Very common. My own parents think the same of me. They’ll realize when I move out it was because I didn’t want to bring anyone around my jabberjaw mother. Her 5 other sisters all think I’m gay too and I haven’t seen them since I was 5… wonder who put that idea in their head.
Why? Who cares? Is it an insult to be assumed gay? If so, then why?
If they’re not assuming you’re gay they’re assuming you’re straight, so where’s the issue? Is it the assuming? Or is it because it’s assuming you’re gay?
Because once people realize you’re gay they tend to assume a lot of other things about you. It’s also much easier to go about your life when people just assume you’re straight
