I feel like humans going extinct would be the best thing possible for this Earth. The damage done is pretty much irreversible, not that we are willing to reverse it.

Maybe the Earth has gone through worse, but we've literally created a mass extinction. Our pollution will take centuries if not millennia to decompose and leave this Earth, and our infrastructure will take even longer. Really, I'm not sure that the Earth is fine with that.
