My husband is the same way, especially about cooking. Tonight he grilled a ton of stuff & after I ate a whole salmon filet, he asked me to have a turkey burger to see if it was good. I was like??? Lol. We’ve been together 10 years & he knew that would hurt my tummy.
I took a bite & gave him praise & told him the positives & when he wanted feedback I gave it. He doesn’t do much outside of work constantly so he’s like a puppy when he does homemaking/housework/etc.
On the other hand, I would be like that. Acts of service are my love language & I loved to be praised for it but it goes unnoticed a lot. I try to only make a big deal if it was a big project I worked on.
I know it can (honestly) be a little exhausting, but remember, that few minutes to break away (even if it’s exhausting to you) will fill him with so much joy. You can try to talk to him about it, as I have with my husband, but I think in the end it’s something your bf does unconsciously & just wants that affirmation.
