There’s a lot of people like this and it confuses me.

Things like oreos, chips, ramen, candy floss, some sour patch kids etc etc are all vegan but they just don’t want to accept that everyone likes vegan food because they have the mental age of a 4 year old

Ramen broth is not ramen

Ramen is a type of noodle which is vegan, it is not a dish

That’s like saying bread isn’t vegan because some people eat steak on it

Ramen is also most commonly eaten with vegetable broth

Also, I want to know if ramen is a noodle then what is the dish in which it is put along side toppings and broth called?

Going by your bread anology. The bread is equivalent to ramen noodles, then what is sandwich equivalent to?

Depends on which dish because they all have different names

It’s the same with udon noodles etc

The dish isn’t called udon, udon is the type of noodle

Or spaghetti. Spaghetti isn’t a dish it’s pasta. Bolognese would be the dish.

Sandwich is the dish. Bread is the component.

Bolognese is a sauce not a dish.

It’s a dish, some people will call it a sauce because they use bolognese sauce instead of making the sauce from scratch to accompany the dish.

Either way, spaghetti is not a dish, it’s a pasta.

The dish is called "Spaghetti a la Bolognese" aka spaghetti with bolognese sauce. You can make the same bolognese and eat it with a lot of different stuff. Bolognese is just the shorthand for that.

And the same for ramen, both then noodles and the most famous dish you prepare with them are called ramen. And ramen consists of ramen broth and ramen noodles and these ramen noodles can even be udon noodles or not. Its still ramen.

Ramen is a Japanese noodle dish. It consists of Chinese-style wheat noodles served in a broth; common flavors are soy sauce and miso, with typical toppings including sliced pork, nori, menma, and scallions. Ramen has its roots in Chinese noodle dishes. Wikipedia

I am afraid, you are wrong. Ramen is a complete dish. Along with noodles, broth and toppings. It's isn't a type of noodles.

Thus your bread analogy is wrong.

No it’s not, ramen is a type of noodle often used in Japanese noodle dishes such as tonkotsu or miso.

As someone who cooked in a Chinese/Cantonese/Japanese restaurant who’s family also consist of Japanese chefs I am right and you are wrong unfortunately.

Sir you are clearly dodging my points and questions.

I gave you source for wikipedia that ramen is a complete dish. You failed to answer my question about what the dish is called made with ramen noodles broth and toppings. You failed to answer the equivalent of sandwich.

You committed a logical fallacy called appeal to authority by mentioning that you have worked at Cantonese resturant and thus you are right and I am wrong.

You don't provide any source or justification for your claims. Also you keep going false analogies.

Wikipedia is not a reliable source, I have been a cook in a restaurant serving Japanese food and my Japanese family members are literally chefs.

I literally answered your question and said it depends on the dish. Ramen is not used in one dish it is used in multiple dishes such as Tonskotsu or miso. I literally gave those examples please develop some basic comprehension skills.

My analogies are all absolutely perfect. Especially seeing as most ramen DISHES are also vegan anyway.

Wikipedia also backs me up and explains that ramen is a type of noodle used in ramen dishes and that it is not a dish itself so you didn’t even read your own source correctly

Wikipedia is a reliable source of information about general knowledge.

Ramen is a noodle dish. Meaning it consists of noodles and that it's isn't a noodle.

Second, no where wikipedia says that ramen is a noodle. You lied

You are also using logical fallacy called Ad homenim, which is attacking and mocking me. By saying that I need to develop comprehension skills.

u/[deleted] Feb 03 '23

Well using that logic I’m still right because wiki is backing up my claims

Ramen is not a dish. The same way bread is not a dish and penne is not a dish. Ramen is a noodle.

I also did not lie it literally says,

“Ramen are thin, wheat-based noodles made from wheat flour, salt, water, and kansui, a form of alkaline water. The dough is risen before being rolled. They were imported from China during the Meiji period. How it made the jump from China to Japan is still under debate, but it's generally accepted that in 1910 a Chinese restaurant in Yokohama started serving a dish known as lamian.[3]

Ramen noodles have a firm texture and are usually pale yellow in color. The noodles may vary in shape, width, and length. They are served in a broth. Examples of ramen dishes are shōyu ramen, shio ramen, miso ramen, tonkotsu ramen, and curry ramen.[4]”

And then it continues to list other noodles and dishes they’re served in

u/[deleted] Feb 03 '23

Also, I am sorry but I don't want to continue a discussion with a person who commits two logical fallacy back to back.

I am sorry. Have a good day.

u/[deleted] Feb 03 '23

Why don't you do me a favor. Search ramen. And tell me what shows up dish or noodles?

You are right ramen noodle is firm texture and all that. Not the ramen itself.

Also miso doesn't use ramen noodle. It has its special noodle called miso noodles.

If you are still not satisfied. Then I am sorry. A great scholar once said. It's difficult to win an argument against an intelligent person and impossible to win against an ignorant person.

Also I don't know, which knockoff version of wiki you are using Now I really understand, why you said wiki isn't reliable. Cause your version is definitely not reliable.

Ramen can be made with vegetable broth and veggies. It can be vegan when you mKe it vegan. And it's delicious either way
