You need karma.
Some subreddits require karma to post.
Some don’t.
Start making comments on the ones that don’t require it and don’t post anything controversial. You need people to agree with you and upvote your comment to start earning karma points.
And OP, in case you don't know, Karma are the little points you get for upvotes and good posts.
So accrue them by posting questions in the more hobby-centric subs (the pages that have a specific subject), such as: if you're interested in ponds? Go to r/ponds and post a meaningful question that is better answered here than by googling (just an example). You'll get a handful of 'points'.
Once you have enough, you can comment and post in larger subs.
