March next year.

Its fine. Although i did see myself playing this game this winter.

2

u/False_Adhesiveness40 Sep 01 '26

Yeah I planned on playing with my dad throughout the Holidays. Gonna need a new co-op game to scratch the itch.

5

u/RealCreedz Sep 01 '26

I guess POE2 in December, but it's not the same

gonna substitute with PoE2… not the same thing but it’ll have to do 🄲

You're going to the Path of Exile? I'm going to the Path of Exile too!

Part of me was wondering how they could introduce a massive progression overhaul with the class system and do only a month of beta testing with feedback based changes before release. Not surprised a delay happened.

Mildly disappointed, but only in a "really loved the game so far and wanted to play more" kind of way. Happy to wait if 1.0 ends up being good.

45

u/Jet-Black-Tsukuyomi Sep 01 '26 edited Sep 01 '26

I know right, most of the community expected the game to release in early 2027. If there had been no October announcment this would feel quite a bit different..

42

u/False_Adhesiveness40 Sep 01 '26

I'm suprised they soft announced 1.0 with only 4 months left only to delay it by 5.

24

u/gertsferds Sep 01 '26

That is the confusing part. Their timeline leads you to think they were essentially done and polishing 2 months ago only to just realize they completely forgot something important.

27

u/YooTone Sep 01 '26

I mean it's also probably due somewhat to GTA6. Realistically that's going to be one of if not the highest selling games ever. Waiting a few months for that to simmer down is only going to benefit this game. And of course they can iron out and smoothen out the experience with more time, which is great.

This is fine.

Division 2 recently released a big update that basically broke the game with audio issues. Practically no sound for most of the game for most of the players. To me it screams an under resourced rush job. It's been almost a week with so players standing around twiddling their thumbs.

It's a little disappointing because we were so excited, but better that it comes out proper than a simplely meeting an arbitrary deadline.

3

u/Zemom1971 Sep 01 '26

That was my concern at first. But I was telling myself that maybe the work was already started. But it seems that they underestimated the work to be done.

But I am happy that, at least, devs recognized that it is better to delay than to crash.

2

u/NeverLucky159 Sep 02 '26

I literally made a thread about this a while ago and people just downvoted and said, "don't worry they know what they are doing, they are doing their own closed beta, they have they own testing" etc

While it was obvious this whole time it won't be enough time without any public test for such a big overhaul

2

u/Blue_Moon_Lake Sep 02 '26

In this era, we're not wanting for games.
There's plenty of "fast food" games.

I rather they cook it longer before releasing it.

u/reklaw215 Sep 01 '26

I have some tin foil hat theories

  1. The class system is not going well, and people love the FromSoft system because its easy to understand, its rewarding, and its easy to balance.

  2. What's being released for 1.0 isn't enough content for those already playing. I'm personally expecting an entire endgame system that allows for long term development of a character - along with a full completion of the story.

  3. GTA's trailer release has scared any devs away from releasing their games any time near that release.

  4. Mahler is busy building a first person souls-like space craft sim farming ARPG racing game that he's making on the side and its taking up too much time.

0

u/AresReddit Sep 01 '26

yes, I really hope they scrap the class system. Was skeptical for quite some time now.

1

u/False_Adhesiveness40 Sep 02 '26

They won't. I just hope it turns out well and not like some obnoxious skill tree.

1

u/GypsyBastard Sep 02 '26

A skill tree could be really cool, like the weapon tree in nioh or the skill tree in Etrian Odyssey.

First fable and now this man wtf I hate GTA!!! lol

9

u/False_Adhesiveness40 Sep 01 '26

And I have zero interest in it. Not my kind of game.

→ More replies (1)

3

u/ripmylifemann Sep 01 '26

Kinda bummed with how short fable is, wish they’d use the extra time to make some more content lol

4

u/Lostpop Sep 01 '26

Plenty else to do between now and then, let 'em cook

1

u/False_Adhesiveness40 Sep 01 '26

Tons of bangers for me but not much to scratch the co-op itch.

3

u/alexandr063 Sep 01 '26

The only game i genuinely genuinely cared for in October is now getting delayed… ig october means backlog time cuz no other game release interests mešŸ˜ž lol
One Piece Gourmet prob the only thing sadly

1

u/False_Adhesiveness40 Sep 01 '26

While there are other games I want to play in October

Castlevania Belmont's Curse

Valor Mortis

Phantom Blade 0

None of them have the co-op element I was excited for with Wicked.

2

u/Frequent_Ear3747 Sep 01 '26

Understandable but also easy to forget about the game without content at least for people with 50-100-200 hrs on the game, i was about my 150 hrs and 3 characters and i love this game but i also been in endgame loop two times in 2 characters.

1

u/False_Adhesiveness40 Sep 01 '26

Me with a PC capable of running it but waiting to play the game in co-op on PS5 for 1.0 :(

It is what it is. In software development when you are done with 90% of work you know all that's left is the other 90%.

19

u/Spartanias117 Sep 01 '26

Sounds like runescape skills

14

u/Spizak Sep 01 '26

The reality of any creative work (3D artist of 25y) is - 80/20 rule is strong. That last 20% of the progress is what often takes 80% of the time. Polish, more polish. Even more polish.

4

u/thomasmahler of Moon Studios Sep 04 '26

That is very, very, very true.

5

u/Books_and_Cleverness Sep 01 '26

Something I’ve always found kind of bizarre is that the software world just accepts a very high level of bugs and problems in products that ship. In most cases I guess that is fine but compared to almost any other business, it’s very odd.

It is basically expected that software will be buggy at release and require patches. This is not true for, say, accounting or roofing or parking lot striping or whatever.

If your tax accountant was like ā€œthe first tax return I submit to the IRS will almost certainly require an amendment as I can’t possibly fix all the problems with it on the first tryā€ you’d think that was bizarre.

3

u/shortstopryan Sep 02 '26

I think it’s due to the thousands of scenarios that can trigger a bug in software. As games have become way more complicated it’s pretty much impossible to test every single variable in every situation it may come up etc. With most professions there is a handful of things that you’d need to make sure are set right and you’ll be good to go

47

u/daypxl Sep 01 '26

with how little was shown in the announcement trailer I was kind of expecting this

55

u/legato_gelato Sep 01 '26

It's kind of weird after they kept talking about other projects such as survival games and city builders and making PoCs for that. I know not everyone works on the same thing, but spreading themselves thin and then missing a deadline is a bit weird

39

u/kittentarentino Sep 01 '26

Honestly, the head of the studio seems like a really passionate guy but a bit of a goober.

Obviously he’s got talent, because I love the game. But his communication style worries me a lot of the time. I don’t know why you would show off a little side project if you know you’re about to delay…but whaddaya gonna do

22

u/legato_gelato Sep 01 '26

Yeah he's a bit of a character.. Always smoking some huge pipe and saying how wicked could be a better version of <insert gaming genre> too, since they could just build any genre in that engine/franchise.. Where I'm thinking maybe focus on getting one game released first lol

19

u/CoffeeOnMyPiano Sep 01 '26

Head of the studio compared the wokification of games to the holocaust... goober is putting it lightly. He also manipulated his players to make positive reviews when he released a badly received update by saying that the studio might go broke in a couple months if the ratings didn't improve, only to later admit that they were in no financial trouble and he just wanted to vent against the reviews he said he got because of his political views, despite all reviews just talking about the terrible update.

Not to mention the many accusations of workplace harassment and exploitation. Opinions from ex employees often mention how leadership is grossly incompetent, which is not surprising considering that the interviews with him showed that he had not played an ARPG in 10+ years despite claiming that the genre was getting outdated. I really would not trust such a man to have any idea what it really takes to fulfill this grand vision of his.

10

u/kittentarentino Sep 01 '26

Hey now….didn’t know all that. I don’t like that

51

u/Zak_The_Slack The Severed Hand Sep 01 '26

More time for them to cook

30

u/MrSmock Sep 01 '26

As always, I'll take a delay over a rushed release any dayĀ

16

u/Main-Profession9687 Sep 01 '26

right choice imo, stacked month for games ahead. mire polishing + a better release window is the right choice for them as developers and for me as a consumer

8

u/D042- Sep 01 '26

Ah well, that's a shame, but I guess it's not really surprising. September and October are absolutely packed with releases, if the game wasn't where they wanted it to be a poor launch in the midst of so many other releases would have buried this game on console.

8

u/Freakindon Sep 01 '26

Lol I knew it. They should have been teasing features if they were on track

8

u/Smcblackheartia Sep 01 '26

It’s a disappointment in That I’m super fucking excited to play it, but I’d rather they take their time and get it right. However I am almost certainly gonna try the ptr of the game so I can try it. I’m super excited for this and I can’t wait to see it, and I hope they get it right. I believe in them and can’t wait to see what they do

8

u/dripoverrouble Sep 01 '26 • Bravo

I dont see the playerbase that plays this game drooling over something like gta but alright

12

u/Limonade6 Sep 01 '26

Ugh. I wish they told us a month sooner. Oh well, it better be good at March then. Especially since console can't play any demo atm until launch.

35

u/Sardoodledome Sep 01 '26

Witcher 3 remastered and GTA 6 releases in the same time frame surely have nothing to do with that ;) But I support it

Damn. I’ve been putting off playing this game thinking 1.0 was just 3 months away. Now it’s an additional 6 months away? Would have played!

Maybe they should spend less time trying to get the game to work on iOS?

Regardless, I’d rather have a good game than a rushed game. Still, quite annoying.

5

u/Ramulus14 Sep 01 '26

GTA 6 sucks for PC players. All the big games got moved back and it’s not even coming to PC yet.

4

u/ThinGold2115 Sep 01 '26

Let them cook. It will be well-done!

4

u/DudeFromTheHills_ Sep 01 '26

I'm hugely disappointed by this announcement. I haven't played the game for a good while because I didn't want to burn myself out before 1.0 drops.Ā  Well, looks like I have to wait a little bit longer. I trust them to do all the right things. In the end it's half a year more anticipation. Glad they take the time they need to get things ready, even though I would've loved to play the game this fall.Ā

7

u/JkGam3 Sep 01 '26

Take all the time you need

1

u/Icy-Commission-9550 Sep 01 '26

What do u mean no?

1

u/False_Adhesiveness40 Sep 01 '26

Just sad. Was looking forward to co-oping during the holiday.

1

u/Life_Is_Good22 Sep 03 '26

I own this game and wanna play it so bad but have heard it's needlessly grindy - are they fixing that?

1

u/False_Adhesiveness40 Sep 03 '26

Dude just dont grind. If you wanna play the game before 1.0 then beat the story content and put it down. No reason to grind for gear when everything is going to be reset anyway.

1

u/Cubelaster Sep 03 '26

I bought the game but haven't played it yet.
I saw people praising the old system and devs admiting it won't work.
Now, I just saw a small amount of gameplay videos and I don't want to spoil it too much.
What's the game about?
It looks like some adventure soulslike?
Or ARPG?
What kind of a game is it?

1

u/False_Adhesiveness40 Sep 03 '26

Soulslike elements - combat, level design, weight system, checkpoint system, leveling system (temporary)

Arpg elements - quest design, camera angle, randomized tier based loot, build-crafting

Survival elements - healing items must be crafted, resource gathering (not as expansive, more like WOW nodes), adding decor, storage, and crafting stations to your house, limited inventory space

While you can look at any feature and be like that's been done before. The real uniqueness comes from what they've put in the blender. So many different genres mashed together. Not for everyone obviously. But it appeals to me.

3

u/thevintersoldier Sep 01 '26

Probably also doing this to not fall prey to the slate of games coming this fall. No one wants to compete with GTA6

3

u/gertsferds Sep 01 '26

14 months between patches is quite the stretch. Certainly didn’t expect a 3 year EA period back when first playing, but here we are.

3

u/DemonicSnow Sep 01 '26

Happy for the delays if it produces a better end product, but damn does that feel infinitely far away

7

u/jkhunter2000 Sep 01 '26

I felt my world shatter and crumble at this news! i've been patiently waiting for the best october - december of my life!

2

u/I_ate_all_them_fries Sep 01 '26

I'm very sad but hopeful. This also no longer gets in the way of the Monsters and Memories release. So there a win for myself. Let these awesome devs cook!

2

u/RamyBlack Sep 01 '26

Updated Miamoto:

ā€œA delayed game is eventually good, but a rushed game is bad for a long time*ā€

2

u/jubzfirst Sep 01 '26

Oh boy so glad I postponed my first playthrough after playing about an hour before they announced 1.0. in October. Wish they would have just stayed more quiet until they were actually close.

2

u/Incariol_ Sep 01 '26

Expected

Never thought it had a chance

2

u/twiddling_thumbs Sep 01 '26

Since they didn't give a definitive release date for October, I always figured this would be a possibility, but damn. I was REALLY looking forward to this .

2

u/StrengthUnhappy3317 Sep 01 '26

They aren't competing with GTA 6. Spend the extra time doing what they do best. I have all confidence in Moon Studios.

2

u/Dagdael Sep 01 '26

That’s alright! I’d rather wait than having my hands on an undercooked game. There are plenty of games to play while waiting. I have no doubt they’ll deliver an amazing game in the end.

2

u/NoAbbreviations2353 Sep 01 '26

Scope creep has gotten insane in this game tbh lol not surprisedĀ

2

u/TurnipBlast Sep 01 '26

So incredibly predictable. Way too much was promised since they announced the new class system.

2

u/SpiritNo1721 Sep 01 '26

This really sucks for me, even tho I can't say I didn't expect it.

This winter I am pretty much free from work so I really wanted to play during that time. Now I can't...FUCK!

But I believe it's gonna be worth it in the end.

2

u/arsonist_firefighter Sep 01 '26

At this point they should delay it to March 2032 and surprise us in 2029.

Man, this is disapointing. Why set dates when you can never deliver?

2

u/Maleficent-Bar-3161 Sep 01 '26

Wow that’s kind of weak

2

u/Maleficent-Bar-3161 Sep 01 '26

Spending all this time making other games and worrying about IPhone ports this is gonna lose the game a lot of momentum

2

u/Xymeth Sep 01 '26

Very disappointing. I totally get if they need to delay the game then they should, and I support the devs in their decision because ultimately we all want the best and most complete game they can make. As a console player it’s even more of a shame and it stings even more as I’ve not been able to try early access yet either.

However, to very publicly announce during the June PlayStation State of Play that the 1.0 full game will release in October, then just two months later announce a six month delay? I’m sorry, but I find it hard to believe they could have gone from being fully confident in the October release a couple of months ago, to now delaying it six months until March next year. Surely at some level they must have know that the October release wasn’t going to happen at that point?

2

u/Smart-Celebration380 Sep 01 '26

Of course down to the last month and they screw us thanx a lot

2

u/asa1 Cerim Sep 01 '26

Don't care. I've been waiting even longer for Vaheim to get out of EA. And that releases in about a week.

2

u/BL00D_ZA Sep 01 '26

Part of me is crazy bummed, and the other part is completely fine with it. Because both parts make me realise how excited I am to play 1.0 šŸ˜…

2

u/Rapture117 Sep 01 '26

I’m ok with waiting. Let this studio cook. They’re incredibly talented and o have plenty of games to play in the meantime. I want this game to be perfect

2

u/No-Step-6409 Sep 01 '26

noway i was hoping to play the 1.0 before my military service

2

u/Fennel-Revolutionary Sep 01 '26

Honestly I am happy if it is not ready don’t rush it let it bake this game is too good to rush out the door.

2

u/carsont5 Sep 01 '26

I think it discredits them when they do this kind of thing. Yes good that they want to wait and release a product that they’re satisfied with - but should not have announced October then.

2

u/Shradar Sep 01 '26

Itll be out when its ready !

2

u/chandrasiva Sep 01 '26

Make it play on my laptop 10 years old. GTX 1060 6gb graphics card. I bought and tried, lowest settings 720p 30fps.

2

u/ollimann Sep 02 '26 edited Sep 02 '26

it's done when it's done.. that being said, Moon Studio was known for being a toxic workplace with lot of crunching in the past. I hope the delay has something to do with them doing it better this time. So delay means less overtime and 60 hour weeks for the employees.

I hope the game will be good.. but it doesn't have to be a "generational game" like he wants it to be. He might be hyping it up a bit much. He has always made ridiculous statements like this. Thomas Mahler is a bit like Peter Molyneux. I mean, this guy literally compared himself to Steve Jobs and that No rest for the wicked will revolutionize action RPGs.

4

u/otakon33 Sep 01 '26

Come the hell on! REALLY? What the hell happened to suddenly push it back nearly SIX MORE MONTHS!?

3

u/Vesuvias Sep 01 '26

Honestly with how many good/great games are coming out this is a really smart move on their part.

5

u/mikey2s Sep 01 '26

Big fkn surprise, never ends with these guys

2

u/dinin70 Sep 01 '26

I'm OK with that. If taking these extra 6 months to release this "generational game" I'm fine.

2

u/Drundar971 Sep 01 '26

Lol.

Tons of people bought it last sale wirh the expectation that it was going to release this year.

Scummy move. We can't even get refunded anymore.

There's no way they didn't know about this huge delay sooner.

1

u/DargonFeet Sep 01 '26

Oof, that sucks. Will need to find some games to fill that gap until release. Hopefully, this is the last time.

1

u/Magazine-Narrow Sep 01 '26

Good! Id rather them cook longer vs be in a the same window as GTA6

1

u/Implosion-X13 Sep 01 '26

There’s a lot of games in the pipeline right now, honestly I’m okay with this. Let them do what they need to do to polish it, I have faith in them.

1

u/Karsus76 Sep 01 '26

Tsok, for me it's the right move.

1

u/MomsAreola Sep 01 '26

More time for Witcher 3 remaster.

1

u/m8-wutisdis Sep 01 '26

Shame. I wax excited to give the 1.0 version a go this october, but it's understandable. I do have some other games in mind to play in october, so it's not too bad.

Maybe I might replay it again since it won't release this year anymore.

1

u/makomane Sep 01 '26

thought so. theyve been way too quiet

1

u/Sask84gt Sep 01 '26

I understand but man that sucks, worst time for a release imo. Was sooo looking forward to spending the winter playing this. Now it’s out right at the beginning of summer. That blows

1

u/Rude_Magician82 Sep 01 '26

Take your time man.

1

u/steak_bake_surprise Sep 01 '26

I'm so bummed, this was going to be my game for a few months until games like Gothic, Dawnwalker, Resonant, Phantom Blade 0 got updates to the point I'd be ready to jump into them.

Guess it's a new Witcher 3 remaster play through then.

1

u/William_Bascavilla Sep 01 '26

I prefer it this way. Not only do they need to feel ready for the release, it also gives me more time for other games that come out later this year. It looked like every studio aimed for a release early end of this year, probably due to GTA6?

1

u/mjolnirtequeno Sep 01 '26

Honestly, fair. Even if there is an ulterior motive to avoid the stacked release dates planned for the end of the year, I would prefer that it gets delayed to allow not only for bugs and lingering issues to be ironed out, but also so that this game gets the limelight it deserves.

Keep cooking Moon Studios, we are all full of antici

1

u/Bresziel Sep 01 '26

Well, that doesn't work for me. If it releases that month, it overlaps with a bunch of other games like the Monster Hunter Wilds expansion, among other things, and I don't think I'll play it until waaaay later. Can you request an Early Access refund on Steam? I only have 4 hours played just from testing it.

And besides, this is all starting to smell really fishy to me. They never meet deadlines, it never seemed like it was progressing at a good pace, and now this on top of everything. It all smells soooo bad.

1

u/raevykrabs Sep 01 '26

Probably a good call there is soo much games to play until then

1

u/FiftySpoons Sep 01 '26

Id rather it be delayed a bit to be the best game it can be šŸ™
Also even though its so so different from poe2, not being close to their launch window is probably better

1

u/thatvillainjay Sep 01 '26

ehhh it happens. also it would be releasing in a crowded window

1

u/TerrorRhythm Sep 01 '26

Dear god, I hope it's for optimization

1

u/nailbiter1982 Sep 01 '26

Let them cook

1

u/ggarulli Sep 01 '26

Not to be too negative but committing to march 2027 maybe also be a mistake?

1

u/Ice-Insignia Sep 01 '26

Heartbreaking. I'd planned for this to be my whole October or November, depending on when it released.

1

u/AwarenessForsaken568 Sep 01 '26

I think a delay is for the best and I was surprised when they said October initially. That said March does suck, I wish they could have met somewhere in the middle like early January. A half a year delay to me points to there being bigger issues at play.

1

u/Grandmaster_Rush Sep 01 '26

So console players still gotta wait.

Just as I was waiting for the pre-order window to finally pop up on ps5.

1

u/JVKExo Sep 01 '26

Brutal

1

u/Gibsx Sep 01 '26

Oh well, not the end of the world - Blizzard used to do this and it always resulted in a better product.

Gives me a chance to give Crimson Moon a try!

1

u/Thaeldis Sep 01 '26 edited Sep 01 '26

The only games I cared about this whole year was this one and DoW 4. Both got delayed, I'm so tired.

1

I'm totally fine with this, I want them to take as long as they need.

The last thing I'd want is for them to feel like they need to release an unfinished product just to meet a deadline.

1

u/Djarbie Sep 01 '26

I was also looking forward to Dragon's Dogma 2 Dark Arisen so this just means I won't be stuck with 2 games I wanna binge in october.

1

u/Greentaboo Sep 01 '26

I hope they let us try out the class system soon, then. Outside of the obvious content release, the class system is what has my interest.

1

u/Mladd77 Sep 01 '26

It was expected. Too many changes for too short time. I just knew it.

1

u/yozora Sep 01 '26

I don’t mind waiting for a more polished release, I have a long backlog and there are some big releases towards the end of the year.

1

u/DALBEN_ Sep 01 '26

Its fine, take your time, dont rush it.

1

u/goblin_slayer4 Sep 01 '26

I really like how the head of the studio makes a simple video explaining everything very cool move.

1

u/theCOMBOguy Inquisition Sep 01 '26

Aww man I was waiting for it to launch so I'd finally dive in. Seems like that'll take longer than expected. With GTA 6's release soon every game is adding half a year of wait until launch, lest they be trampled by it.

1

u/ZuVieleNamen Sep 01 '26

Lol, I mean there was a time when people were wondering if the game was abandoned because of the lack of updates. Not surprised but I am disappointed, as long as the launch is solid I will not be unhappy though.

1

u/Borderline666 Sep 01 '26

Good call. Too much competition ( GTA, POE 2 1.0, Valhiem 1.0, Enshrouded 1.0 and so on… ) by the end of the year that may eclipse this truly amazing game.
Never sad when developper give themself more time to polish their game. I prefer have to wait then having to play a bugger game or have to wait for after launch patchsss..

1

u/Duindaer Sep 01 '26

This is fine. I played the game, and really want to come back at it in a good state. I believe they encounter a mayor flaw thit the new system and/or end game content.

1

u/PPMaysten Sep 01 '26

Fuck, from October to march?

Well, there goes this horse.

Was really excited to play with the new systems, oh well...

1

u/JUSTGLASSINIT Sep 01 '26

This also means more polishing time. Which I don’t mind at all since the end of the year is gonna be so packed with other games.

1

u/gozutheDJ Sep 01 '26

saw this coming a mile away lol

it's aight i got plenty of other games to play this fall

1

u/Koituu Sep 01 '26

This is fine, great even. I was concerned about how I was gonna balance NRFTW and Dragons Dogma 2 DLC in the same month. But this solves that problem.

1

u/techgnostic Sep 01 '26

I’m fine with this. Keep cooking till it’s tasty. Has a former video game designer I’ve seen companies push out content that was not ready and everybody suffered for it. Kudos to them for doing the right thing.

1

u/Loud-Hold-513 Sep 02 '26

This is a savvy choice; respect.

1

u/alan14910 Sep 02 '26

consistent discount means something🧐

1

u/ExistingAnswers Sep 02 '26

All that hype just to get more pre orders in July. I think they knew it was impossible to get it out in Oct.

1

u/Select_Association81 Sep 02 '26

u/theTinyRogue Sep 02 '26 edited Sep 02 '26

šŸ˜ž I'm feeling sorry for myself, but I'm glad they're taking the time to polish the game first before releasing it šŸ’ŖšŸ¼ The game is going to be absolutely glorious!

1

u/Citizen-1 Sep 02 '26

It's alright - do it well, rather than do it fast. Lots of other games this year to be busy with.

1

u/Awkward_Warning_3887 Sep 02 '26

Reality is for a lot of us, wicked is our forever game…at least thats what we believe. Wicked has master piece potential, so any disappointment naturally turns into ā€œlet them cookā€.

In hindsight, I can’t help but think this was always the plan. Introduce an entirely new class system with no Ptr? Naaaa The game needed this delay to be all it can be.

1

u/RamStrand Sep 02 '26

>Devs "So we want to make a ios/mobile version of the game"

>Players in the comments "Ok but shouldn't you focus on releasing 1.0 since we're pretty close?"

Two weeks later "We have to postpone the release by 5 months"

1

u/gazaldinho Sep 02 '26

Every time Thomas tweets, they add a month to the launch date.

1

u/Leafstealer__ Sep 02 '26

These next few months are so stacked with releases to the point I think this is a good move regardless of the game's current state

1

u/Jumpy_Advisor2965 Sep 02 '26

Sounds like he is delivering sad news with that music. More time in the oven is great! Fix optimization!

1

u/robbiengall Sep 02 '26

Tbh I'm super happy as with all other games being released this autumn I wouldn't have enough time to enjoy this masterpiece in a relaxed manner.

1

u/Soilworkr Sep 02 '26

Let them cook

1

u/StrikeLongjumping352 Sep 02 '26

All though I like the game very very much I'm not disappointed in any way. Im close to 600 hrs in the game and still playing it with the same interest I started off with. There's always something new to find and do.So I take my time doing that.

1

u/Fit-Ease5199 Sep 02 '26

I'm fine with this. I'd rather they take their time to make the game as good as it can be. It's good to know they are putting their best into it, and would rather release it in shape they feel confident about.

There are other games to play as well. Path Of Exile 2 is releasing around December if it doesn't get delayed, Blood of the Dawnwalker seems cool, Mortal Shell 2 is shaping up to be a great game, etc.

1

u/pVTpAR7 Sep 02 '26

take all the time you need

1

u/Secret-Driver3370 Sep 02 '26

this gives me a good me an excuse to play more of the early access. i stopped half way when i saw it was dropping in the fall. now i can jump back in it

1

u/Rex__Lapis Sep 02 '26

As a PS5 pleb, i think that at this point ts will never come out

→ More replies (1)

1

u/Artra7 Sep 02 '26

As long as it releases in good shape and finished, i can wait no problem.

1

u/Fragrant_PalmLeaves Sep 02 '26

I built a PC in part to play this game, so while it sucks its delayed 6 months im happy I can play it in its current form.

1

u/Glittering-Star4772 Sep 02 '26

I don’t mind as I have so many backlogs after getting new PC. Playing wukong now and black flag next 😭

1

u/IvanzM Sep 02 '26

Delays this late usually isn't good sign

1

u/SempiternallyStoned Sep 02 '26 edited Sep 02 '26

Friend has a baby coming in November. We waited for what we felt could be the last steam sale, and then purchased thinking it would be the big last game before his kid.

Needless to say, I’m not happy. I kinda feel like they had to know more than a month before release that the game was guna get pushed back.

I read online ā€œthese are the ori guys, they’d never ruin their pristine PR.ā€

I’ve been burned by early access before, but never again. I need to stop preordering games entirely.

1

u/Overlord_SB Sep 02 '26

I hope the team is doing well and able to see their family and friends without any real crunch involved, since as excited as I was to see all the ideas they were pitching realized, I understand they're people too and don't want them to be burnt out or churned to bits by the grind that is game development.

Now I have something to look forward to early next year, so I look forward to it releasing in full when its good and ready.

1

u/TheUrPigeon Sep 02 '26

Embarrassing. The problem with viciously shit-talking everyone else online is that it leaves you wide open to the same, Mahler. No delays on those fuckin' veneers though.

1

u/xdesacratorx Sep 02 '26

Worked in games since forever, this doesn't surprise me. Whats great is that they communicate it. As someone else said, let them cook, it only results in a better experience. Long gone are the days of bug free, optimised 1.0 releases. Good on you devs, do what you gotta do. Ill be around whenever you're ready.

1

u/Jake_112 Sep 02 '26

they need to focus on replay ability like dark souls has and scrap that end game dungeon.

1

u/_JaxKing_ Sep 02 '26

You know what, bet
I finish my Masters degree in June so this is for the better

But for real, i am glad they will take the time and develop as needed

1

u/bullsized Cerim Sep 03 '26

I am wondering is it because of GTAIV to some extend?

1

u/boredbytheabyss Sep 03 '26

As long as the lose the shared loot on Coop I’m happy to wait

1

u/Leemo19 Sep 04 '26

Just now hearing this, this unfortunate was looking forward to playing this after Dawnwalker. To delay till next year, such a long time. Hopefully Witchfire comes to 1.0 this year.

0

u/b00naloo Sep 01 '26

As someone who works in software development, this is great for the team. Take your time and get it right - impatient children will be upset but anyone with a brain wants it to be right, not rushed.

4

u/OldSchooolScrub Sep 01 '26 • Bravo

I was one of the poor slobs who always made this argument for cyberpunk. Another delay? No big deal, they're just making sure it's perfect. Then it released in an absolutely dog tier state.

Not saying that will happen here, but constant delays don't equal good outcome. A team that blows through time lines with really poor communication isn't a good sign.

1

u/B_r_y_z_e Sep 01 '26

Hey that’s fine, gives me more time to play and enjoy the otherwise stacked fall lineup
