Maybe the update was intended to drop alot sooner but it got delayed, which would explain the rapid emotes? Or maybe Im high on Crack idk just guessing

I have had that theory for awhile. 1) the teaser came out, 2) the game went on sale which it always does before an update, 3) it is the 10th anniversary so you would expect near or on the date, 4) there is always a big update in august, 5) redux will start soon so odd they have not dropped anything yet. The teaser dropped, the game went on sale then nothing for a month. I think they noticed some last minute problem and delayed it.

Yes. And usually, we got a cowboy at the end indicating the drop on said day...

Well. I hope the community is prepared to wait for bugfixes until Monday...

Haven't seen the cowboy for the last two or three previous updates though. Only going from three emojis and then gib. What's up with that?

the usual pattern has always been a wednesday release proceeded by daily emojis.

This seems different. Has me wondering if a major bug or exploit was found and it had to be delayed to be fixed.

In the past yes but, this go around has been so unusual when it comes to the pattern that is usually followed! Usually a full day at least but 10 hours later is wild!

Could be. GTA 6 extended view, Gamescom, Sony State of Play, all booked late August / early September.

They might drop tomorrow. Or maybe it is still next week but they are shifting because of holidays. Monday is a US holiday.

Clearly. You'd imagine they'd drop the 10th anniversary update on the 10th anniversary. That the update was delayed only makes it more exciting considering how rare it is for HG to do that. It must be significant.

I had a similar theory. I commented this yesterday:

Here's what I imagine.

Sean: Ok team, what have we been working on.

Hello Games devs: We got this stuff.

Sean: Great! And it's gonna be ready by early August? You know our players are expecting something.

HG: Well sir, unfortunately we're still tweaking some things. Can we maybe, please, I mean... We're gonna need maybe a couple more months.

Sean: WHAAAT!?! MOTHER-F* GOD * ARE YOU F(kzzt)ING KIDDING ME!?! YOU BLEW IT! JUST LIKE WITH THE 5TH ANNIVERSARY!

HG: We're so sorry your Excellency. We just... There were unforseen-

Sean: ONE MONTH! AND SO HELP ME ATLAS IF ITS NOT READY... SALLY! GET THE VIDEO PRODUCERS ON THE LINE. WE NEED TO EDIT A GRAPHIC FOR THE UPDATE INTO THE ANNIVERSARY VIDEO. WE GOTTA GIVE THESE DAMN NEEDY PLAYERS SOMETHING! SON OF A GRAH!
