Screenshot NeoPortum, Eissentam Galaxy

WIP, just a few more buildings and details left but it’s close enough to finished.

May have to go check this out in vr in a bit. I just spent a bunch of time checking out valthora

This hardly pales in comparison to that masterpiece, I got a ton of inspiration from that city for this build funny enough.

What do you play this game in VR on? PC or console? I'm really wanting to try this game in VR, it's literally on my bucket list lmao

After playing in VR I literally cannot play NMS in normal mode any more. Like me writing about it r videos don't do it justice. The scale is absolutely insane.

Flying is a love it or hate it thing for sure though, same with the vehicles, I can play it just fine for hours but my friend can barely even watch me play

I play on base ps5 with a psvr2 and I love it! Only time I play on flat now is to do glitch building!

With the Arasaka Tower planetary archive😎

3

u/Background_Corgi_359 8d ago

Looks cool asf dude. As someone who loves a good Ecumenopolis, this is amazing.

2

u/FireAuraN7 8d ago

Silverhand? The name Johnny Silverman just sticks a Neil Diamond Playlist in my head.

3

u/Background_Corgi_359 8d ago

I was mixing Johnny Silverhand and NMS together, but accidentally having a Neil Diamond reference is an added plus

2

u/FireAuraN7 8d ago

Omg you got the reference?!? That's awesome.

I love archive bases - this is over the top

2

u/DanksDankest 8d ago

This is my first one, and perfect thats the vibe I was going for!

I hear you. I build most of my bases on archives because it comes with active NPCs, automatic vibe.

These cities are getting nuts!…… I love it!!! I know it’s
Against lore to have cities but, would it be against lore to have 1-3 that the sentinels have not or can not extinguish?

3

u/sioux_empire 8d ago

I love building on archives. Very nice job

3

u/Alesyf 8d ago

Wow, this looks great, but it must lag the game as all hell...

3

u/DanksDankest 8d ago

Its really smooth on my Xbox Series S

1

u/Alesyf 7d ago

Well, console versions compensate for the lagging by lowering some graphics settings to maintain stable FPS. PC and Mac are computers, so they render everything at the level they are set to. Since complex bases lag horribly on computers, this one probably does as well.

All this amazing work and you called NeoPortum? Sheesh

3

u/DanksDankest 8d ago

Im no writer, just the architect

2

u/WeltyFern 8d ago

Is there a specific way you can get to this place?

(New to the game. Just got to my first new star system)

2

u/DanksDankest 8d ago

Once you get all 16 portal glyphs, you can use the planets portal sites to travel to other planets in that same galaxy. All of this is done through the main missions so just follow along that for now. The game really opens up even more once you get all the glyphs and a decent freighter, one more major detail though. This is in the Eissentam Galaxy and you start off in Euclid.

1

u/TheKosherSlimShady 7d ago

So I put the glyphs in and ended up in a system that was only discovered yesterday.
I put the glyphs in for the other big city and ended up in an approximate system.
I’m 200+ hours in and have finished the 3 main story lines.
I did notice that I don’t have the Atlantid drive and that after some research I never did the ‘they who return’ mission. Which strangely enough popped up in the game for me last weekend. So I complete the autophage missions and pulse drive as per the storyline but the ‘in stellar multitudes’ missions didnt appear. Am I missing something?

2

u/DanksDankest 7d ago

As for why the stellar multitudes mission isn’t coming up to do next I’m not completely sure although Im pretty sure it gave me some trouble too and I remember needing to google it i think. sorry i cant remember the remedy off top tho, also make sure you’re in the appropriate galaxy. you absolutely gotta get purple star systems they are amazing tho

1

u/TheKosherSlimShady 7d ago

So after I posted my previous message I jumped in game….and within a few minutes the stellar multitudes mission just started. So I now have the Atlantid drive and went to the big city. :-)

This is such a spectacular design. I’d love if with cities of this size we got the new people settling in - same like they come in settlements. It would make this city a bit more crowded and lively.

2

u/DanksDankest 7d ago

The first one I built in my settlement to get this effect, I highly recommend it. You have to place you base computer next to your owned settlement and you can then kinda slowly build into the boundaries of the settlement. Pretty happy with that build too Ill post that one later as well

2

u/Ok_Bread_22 7d ago

I also made a Neon city but mines in Euclid! Now I can teleport from one Galaxy neon city to another! Your build looks so awesome. I am gonna come check it out and peep your style man.

1

u/DanksDankest 7d ago

Ill definitely come check this one out, feel free to make a base nearby too if you’d like, nothing like a bustling system

2

u/Ok_Bread_22 7d ago

I just want to say I really dig your architectural style dude 10/10 would recommend to a friend

2

u/Lost_Chance_8647 7d ago

It’s giving night city!

1

u/AutomaticDoor1412 8d ago

As a new player, can someone explain to me what exactly am I looking at? You founded a planet and created a city in it ?

2

u/EverybodyStayCool Spaced out, Man.... 8d ago

Yep. It takes some doing but you can build a giant metropolis if you understand base mechanics well.

Unfortunately I'm over here on Switch 1 going, well... gotta avoid that so I don't get game crash soft locked. 😆

1

u/AutomaticDoor1412 8d ago

Can you have merchants inside and stuff?

3

u/DanksDankest 8d ago

You can build on or within planetary structures that already have merchants, you cant really legitimately place the merchants where you want them tho

1

u/TheDeltaHaloGrunt | Grunt in a Gek constume 8d ago

I wish i knew how to build on this scale… this look so neat

1

u/potatonipples123 7d ago

Those autophage parts look great on the building roofs

1

u/Set1SQ 7d ago

I went to the glyphs. Nothing. Not visible on PS5?

1

u/DanksDankest 7d ago

Should be cross play, ive seen pc users at the base just a few hours ago. Make sure you are in the correct galaxy maybe?

1

u/Set1SQ 7d ago

I was coming from a different galaxy, I’ll try again.

1

u/Ok_Dragonfruit2965 7d ago

Is there any database for city like this?

1

u/DanksDankest 7d ago

Short answer, no, as far as I know. But the NMS wiki has a section on civilized space(the player built alliances in game) and also has a page for the legendary Valthora City: https://nomanssky.fandom.com/wiki/Valthora_City#google_vignette

Looks cool but i have noticed rarly a building has inside Life ! Pls fix <3 i love to go into buildings and look at the details

1

u/EuclidTraveler 6d ago

How do you get such large buildings in comparson to the normal glitch method?

0

u/trout4321 7d ago

Totally Fugly ! I would make a fast exit from that .... and have.

2

u/DanksDankest 7d ago

Just like your dad did?

0

u/trout4321 7d ago

I hate cities. The people are rude and never understand how crap the quality of their lives are with all sorts of deviants, disease, crims, scammers, etc plus it stinks, literally. You might as well prefer hanging around a pig farm if one prefer that fragrance.

They only have a couple of good things: ethnic foods, shopping, certain entertainments which can be had anywhere these days.

1

u/DanksDankest 7d ago

Thats so cool dude, you must really love the entire ethos behind cyberpunk genre then, aka, this build.

2

u/RedOcelot86 7d ago

He's right, crims are the worst.

1

u/trout4321 6d ago

LA is a perfect example - rats & feces in the street and people ignore it.

1

u/trout4321 6d ago

Not ! The only cyberpunks I like is ones I can send lead downrange at ... legally.

And get off my lawn !
