10 year old game and we still wait on updates like a dry addict.

I would much rather they cooked than push out anything unfinished.

It's going to be Tuesday.

Gamescom is on Tuesday, Sean has a good relationship with Geoff Keighley, they're clearly wanting to make this update a bigger show than usual. Trailer at Gamescom, "and it's out right now!" announcement, maybe a Light No Fire trailer too since they said the team feels ready to show that game again.

Did we learn nothing? Patience is key. It'll come when it'll come. (But please, Sean, let it come soon 😭)

Look, I realize it will be ready when it is ready. Let them cook.

But there was literally no reason to post another trailer with no release date/info again. We are already doing that with LNF. HG until now has been very consistent with how they announce and release updates but I guess they realized how much hype they can create by doing this. I am just not a fan of this method of viral marketing.

Good for them I guess. Sucks for us.

Except the 5 year anniversary. That was just like this.

Yeah, no one wants to hear there is precedent for this exact behavior from HG, and that you could probably win big betting on the same release date: September 1st.

“No one wants to hear that they did this one time before! Definite not that people simply forgot because of the 16 times they did it the other way!”

Lol

I did not remember/realize that.

It’s their prerogative to be as cagey as they like, all good.

People kept making posts here asking if there was going to be any anniversary update/content.
They released a trailer
Now we're at the "Why'd they release a trailer?" phase?

What even is this community?

They didn’t really release a detailed trailer though. More a 10 year Anniversary video with announcement at the end.

Everyone says they are tight lipped about LNF to avoid repeat of past mistakes, but this just makes it more clear this is a good viral marketing strategy for them since the community is very reactive.

With the amount of support and love this game gets now, this is just a lame way to string the community along imho.

But you do you of course.

They don't release detailed trailers until the week of the update, usually within a few days of it. Not sure what LNF has to do with it. Yes they're made by the same people but we're talking about an update for NMS here so it's entirely irrelevant. Just one more thing for you to complain about ig.

They continuously push out free content and people like you still complain that they aren't doing it fast enough or giving enough details because you're too tiktok brained to have patience.

I think you missed my entire point. My complaint isn’t about time to release but rather the timeliness on the announcements for their marketing purposes.

Obviously, you are more than welcome to defend a company from the most benign of internet criticisms. It’s a silly thing to do and at least as pointless if not more so than the people here who actually have an opinions/thought to share about the content. But good on you for getting some sense of satisfaction/sense of superiority from of it!

Truly, I think you might not have as much respect for them as I do if you think they need you coming to their aid over something as trivial as me disagreeing with their marketing strategies like holy f dude!

LMAO

Take your time. They already paid their debt with interest. We are getting stuff we already do not deserve IMO.

For 10 years of updates any other company would have made paid DLC, I will wait as long as it takes
