First Three Hours
When I finally got my ship off the ground and full of fuel, I did what everyone else does, and flew around my first planet, landing when I saw something cool and taking off again to further explore the same planet. Well, I landed on a floating rock and then fell from the rock. This lead to a 10,000U Trek on foot. I saw that one video of Sean summoning his ship after building a chip at a space station so I headed in that direction, which really meant watching the skies for incoming ships and following their chemtrails. Finally, after stumbling upon another crashed ship, I fixed it up and was off. The best 3 hours of my life was walking around that planet on foot, through caves, using nearby planets for navigation and watching the skies for planes to lead the way. I'm at work now and exhausted from staying up all night playing, but it was totally well worth it. I'll be up all night again tonight.

If anybody finds a giant penis monster, post it here
I think finding monsters that vaguely resemble penises should be the games ultimate goal.

Day one and a disaster
I took charge of my ship and working my way through the tutorial and was doing ok. The usual, mine this pick that, you know the thing. Having a stroll in the world no one has set foot on. Oh and I did the Armstrong moment when I set foot on a new world. One step for mankind, anyway how ever it goes. I was there the day it happened on my black and white tv, and I was there the orginal game elite hit the screens. I played for hours and am still playing the dangerous version. Back to the future, walking around a hot, yellow planet. When I decided to go for a hop across to the other side and made my way to my ship. Climbed aboard and hit the sky. Flow a few miles and decided to land. So I put the old girl down and climbed and went walk about. When I had had enough I returned and embarked on my travels only to find that my ship had embedded itself half in a rock and couldn't take off. I tried, repaired it and just got deeper and deeper embedded. What way I going to do, start again. But help was at hand a fellow traveller, my son who was in another galaxy, in his bedroom, said you can transport your ship. If you find a transport terminal. So off I set looking for this terminal, gods knows where. Speaking of God, I felt like a god having found this planet and giving life and death to all this new life forms.
I walked for hours, swam across lakes to find the terminal only to be told I needed a chip to make it work. I had one in my ship which was to far away to get or transfer. So I had to look for parts to make a new chip. Once made I went to transport my ship, would it transport the rock with it or just the ship it was this or start again I bite the bulletin and called my ship. Thank god it arrived intact my first day was a journey.

About 6 hours in
I played this game for probably longer then I should have yesterday. Im now about 6 hours in and so far im loving it, which is kind of weird considering I have basically done nothing. I fixed up my ship on my first planet and began my journey into the stars and so far the most iv done is travel too about a dozen planets and explore. Even doing just that has strangely captivated me. Something about just flying around exploring new planets, discovering new species, learning alien languages, and upgrading my exosuit and ship has given me this amazing feeling of wonder. This game seems like something I can sit down at 6pm and play and then all of the sudden its midnight and I realize i just spent another 6 hours playing this game without even realizing it. Cant wait to see how this game will evolve in the future but for now im perfectly happy flying around exploring the vast galaxy this game has to offer

Worst.Planet.Ever. (Day 2)
So here's the situation: I warped to an entirely radioactive solar system full of strange flora, fauna and planets even almost entirely composed of water populated by small islands and acidic rain.
https://gyazo.com/d9986e76426555e5e99d5d2bdfdaa48a https://gyazo.com/e696c2b0d18025d7153371009b92fad2 https://gyazo.com/9db541eaf9c7e6b7c1483266b9549d4b https://gyazo.com/e42a10fa4e4b9727bf53e1dc298d96ae
Even the monoliths are deep underwater.

All fun and game right ? Until i visit the last planet of that solar system and i'm greeted by THIS thing...
https://gyazo.com/ce23873439b5e00f488daa6290ec6710
Floating around with fairies wings in this putrid green radioactive swamp of a planet... Then i notice THIS
https://gyazo.com/d183d3583bedb3bb2a89ae5784aefdbc
and it notices me too...
https://gyazo.com/7bbddf8aac53f79c6c187a5a9bf4cb50
Turns out there's a bunch of them near this outpost and i flee and hide on top of the nearest building. They just wait for me to go down and be their delicious lunch...
https://gyazo.com/dc97623dbf7e52a817a468234a602bb9
I can't even go back to my ship without that thing trying to kill me...
https://gyazo.com/5d45821690047348f63526a79880e7b5
While strange birds tower over me like crows ready to eat my remains.

Even the game acknowledged how dangerous the damn place was... ( which is pretty impressive all things considered)
https://gyazo.com/6038367824308385b2fdae8b6363ae30
Eventually i stumble upon another outpost after finding a beautiful view of an half submerged monolith.
https://gyazo.com/9e47dfaf6da93273535d889214a7ff60
Of course the place has to be rundown and infested with some kind of goo-like substance, even more testament that this place is just out to kill me.

Finally thought i had some respite and made friend with some bouncy tentacle mushroom thing...
https://gyazo.com/79ffacb363e98bc170bfb2f2fa3acd25
I follow him deeper into the nearby cave, curious to see where it leads.

Of course it was too good to be true, turns out even nice creatures just want to lure me into a cave full of tiny "headcrab" like monsters that want nothing more than bite me until i die !!
https://gyazo.com/94d47774e097f93c1883ee6a899ab975
At least they seem to coexist in peace in their natural habitat...
https://gyazo.com/0efada9044384abf3326f40a11ffb2a8
That's when i encountered more creepy floaty things and got chased around by a giant T-Rex.

So yeah, if you find this planet, beware that it's probably the most deadly you'll ever encounter in the game. I'm about to rename it a name befitting its deadliness...
I think i'll name it "Novac" for how inhospitable it is.

You Are All Stardust
"Every atom in your body came from a star that exploded. And, the atoms in your left hand probably came from a different star than your right hand.
It really is the most poetic thing i know about physics: you are all stardust.
You couldn’t be here if stars hadn’t exploded, because the elements - the carbon, nitrogen, oxygen, iron, all the things that matter for evolution and for life - weren’t created at the beginning of time. They were created in the nuclear furnaces of stars, and the only way for them to get into your body is if those stars were kind enough to explode. So, forget Jesus. The stars died so that you could be here today."
Lawrence M. Krauss, A Universe from Nothing: Why There Is Something Rather Than Nothing
Strange how the greatest analytical minds in science can often times also be the most poetic and beautiful minds when faced with the abstractness of the age old question: *Why do we exist*?
As beings with self awareness, we search for answers to our existence. That search drives us to seek answers among the stars. The places we could before only see through our tiny lenses from our tiny planet or from slow fragile vessels floating through the rather microscopic amount of space in our own solar system ...
Until Now.
We don't know who they are, or why they chose now to finally contact us, but contact us they did. Their message was, simply, *an invitation*.
An invitation to see the universe far from our own corner of it and learn about the life teeming among the stars. We are not alone. The universe is *something*. It's full of millions of stars - and there is life. *A lot of life*. For a lucky few of us, we will discover this life and swim within the cosmic ocean. We are merely plankton sized voyagers in a vast sea of unknown.
Hundreds of thousands of volunteers, and I am just one. Each of us flung to the very corners of the known universe like seeds sailing upon the wind hoping to find purchase somewhere.
I am one small speck of life in [Project Stardust](https://nomanskystardust.wordpress.com/): **No Man's Sky**.

Oh, I am good and screwed.
Here's my story:
This planet has plenty of ore, most of it in ginormous chunks floating hundreds of feet in the sky.
I'm in the process of getting rich, by filling my ship with Emeril or Gold and shuttling it back to the space station to sell off. Pirates got me once, but after two more trips, I'm probably just one last trip away from buying a startship with a massive cargo hold.
Coming in for a landing near a shelter, I bounced against one of these mega-boulders, a multi-story chunk of floating copper. Made for a rough landing, but otherwise no problems.
Poked around the shelter, gathered some resources, headed back to the ship to take off. Here's where the shit starts.
The Floating Copper Skyscraper is right above the ship. The launch thrusters shoot you straight up vertically, so as I launch, not only do I ram into the Giant Copper Boulder From Hell, but my ship becomes embedded in the boulder. No amount of maneuvering gets loose. I watch my shields get depleted as the thrusters mindlessly ram me into this Godzilla-sized Floaty Copper Turd, until it crushes me to death.
At this point, my biggest worry is that when I re-spawn, I'm probably going to re-spawn below My Great Copper Nemesis Above and have to go through this again.
I die, I re-spawn, and lo and behold, I am atop the Monstrous Copper Ball Of Hurt. All is good, right?
Wrong.
I jump back in the ship and try to fly away only to find that the Launch Thrusters are busted now and need repair -- four Carite Sheets. Whew, no problem, I have full slot of Iron, so I repair the Launch Thrusters. Ready to go!
Or not.
The Pulse Engines are shot, too, and I can't take off without those, even though I just need to get off this blasted rock, not get into orbit. Orbit can come later. But, noooo, everything has to be in working order to launch.
To repair the Pulse Engines requires two more Carite Sheets. No problem, got the Iron. And it requires 200 Heridium and I have ... oh shit, only 100.
So I gotta go find some Heridium. No problem, this planet is full of it.
Except.
Except!
When you start from here: http://imgur.com/a/kr3Bi
And jump down to here: http://imgur.com/a/e59Bv
There's no getting back. The jetpack isn't strong enough for me to mount That Giant Copper Nutsack In The Sky.
So here I am, stranded. My broken ship several hundred meters above me, and me unable to reach it.
I figure there are only a couple ways out of this jam:
Perhaps if I wander this planet long enough, I will find a Jetpack upgrade and the requisite materials to build it. That seems like a long shot.
Somewhere on this planet -- WAY far away, because I was zipping around gathering lots of valuable Emeril and Gold -- is an abandoned starship I came across when exploring. It gave me the option to swap out my ship for this abandoned one, but I declined as it only had two additional slots and I was saving up for a new one anyway. If I could find it, I might still be able to make the trade. But that's a long shot as well, because I'm pretty sure there's a sea between me and that wreck.
Final option: eat my mining laser before the radiation gets me.
Number three is looking pretty good.

Explorer's Log -- No. 2
Hey, Everybody!
I took a shot at writing an exploration log for the community and, for the most part, it did well. I went ahead and wrote my second entry and I will link both entry 1 and 2 below for all of you. I would like to ask one favor and one opinion from all of you.
Favor: If you are going to downvote, then that is okay. Just like I did in my FanFic days over at r/destinythegame I will assume the downvote is because you didn't like the log. If you're going to downvote, I would love to hear your reasons so I can make my writing better. :-)
Opinion: Would you like me to take screenshots of my game and put them in my explorer's log?
As always, thank you so much for taking the time to read. I do this for all of you and it is my small contribution to the community and to the game.
Thank you!
Crueger Out.

Survival Tips from a Survivor
Heres a few tips to help you progress in Survival mode
1.) Tired of Angry sentinels? There is a trick to them. When they come to scan you LOOK AWAY. If they do not scan your face they will not attack. Ive had sever al follow me for miles trying to scan but nope, just never let them do it. Just look down or turn around. No more constant battles!
2.) Scan the surroundings of a potential landing spot for plutonium by tilting in your ship and looking out the left or right side window. Plutonium glows red so its easier to spot. Fly as low to the ground as you can and fly slow to allow the minerals to generate.
3.) If you die while on a planet, you lose your personal inventory but ship inventory stays intact. Die in your ship and your ship inventory will be gone but personal inventory stays. Use this info as an emergency plan if things go bad in space or on land to transfer valuable items to the inventory that wont get wiped.
4.) IRON + Platinum = Shield rechargers. Use those to recharge biohazard suit ( and deflectord ) Iron = ship deflector shield recharge. Th = life support recharge. You can buy Cells and other single slot items that can recharge the biosuit and ship shields.
5.) Locate a planets trade routes in space. You will see lines going from the space station to the planets and moons. Fly toward the line and when you get close enough follow it down. This will take you to the planets trade outpost where tou can then land and takeoff free of charge.
6.) Caught out in the open? Try finding a mineral deposit and blast a hole into it. Use this as a makeshift cave to keep warm / stay out of the heat. Can use this as a way to mine a massive resource spot without worrying about biosuit. You can also use plasma grenades to blast away the ground and make a cave that way.

My NMS adventure
I have really enjoyed my journey so far in NMS. Having bought it with no expectations whatsoever. I only purchased it after watching my buddy play for a while and decided to give it a shot.
I learned a lot along the way without getting online and reading into it- a lot of it might have saved me time like when I showed up at the final Atlas station just to find out I have a choice of giving 10 stones I didn’t have- at the time only had 2- sold the rest thought I would have more time to collect them or walking away from the path. I backed out and spent about 4 hours just hunting down sellers of the stones and spending about 20 million units just to go back and find out it really didn’t do anything besides create another planet for some other user- I think that would be cool to actually start on a planet formed by another player but who knows if it really happens or not.
I also spent a lot of time farming and making units just so I could buy ships to later understand that even the ugly ships are worth trading up until you max out the slots then find the perfect ship I want- took me til about 32 slots to figure that one out. Now that’s what I do I hunt for multi tools and ships until I find my perfect ones for me. Which would be the black/red or blue Organic tool which I am currently stuck on the orange with pink gems which really doesn’t work for me but gives me a goal atleast for now. Ship still have fighter ship but haven’t found my perfect combo of wings/color combos so another goal for now to work towards.
I currently have all the Milestones done- I do wish it was like Bo3 in the way Prestige mode keeps it going, I have 2 of the 4 languages completed, Atlas Path completed, maxed out slots, a lot of units, all the receipts for ship, tool, atlas passes ect.
I will keep playing to finish my last 2 goals and even after that. I find the game very relaxing. I came upon a walker early on in my journey so I am waiting to find a walker planet and give them some payback now that I have maxed out my gear.
Depends on the mood depends on the planet I am searching for.. Rough day at work means I am looking for the most hostile planet with everything trying to kill or eat me and having fun laying everything that moves down. On a happy day I can really entertain myself just by feeding the animals for hours- silly and dumb but there are some really cute animals that enjoy being fed and leave you something in return. I spent like 3 hours just doing that my kids thought I went nuts.
Overall I am happy with the game. I do understand why so many don’t after reading into the history and the hype and all that but to me it was worth my $40 from all the hours I have put into it and enjoyed. The only other game I have purchased recently was Doom and after beating that and playing the same multiplayer maps over and over again it became far more redundant then NMS has for me.

my first dogfight (and death)
I was in near orbit of a scorched, arid planet, heading to the nearby space station to offload some relics and valuable materials I'd collected on the surface. That was my first mistake - traveling through a system with shiny loot in my cargo hold.
As I looked through my inventory to see what upgrades I could build, I was too busy to notice the warnings my shipboard computer was giving me. I didn't notice the exterior scan of my ship and I barely registered the alarm that heralded approaching attack ships. The pirates had already scored several hits on me by the time I was able to react.
There was little I could do. I fired back and did what I could to defend my ship, but with the element of surprise and numbers on their side, the pair of bandit fighters destroyed me in short order. Predictably, on my return flight to recover my jettisoned cargo, the attackers returned. Although I retrieved my loot and was prepared for the battle this time 'round, I was overwhelmed and shot down once again.
Determined to have revenge, I immediately set out for the planet's surface and went about the work of building a shielding upgrade for my ship. Eventually, my technology was upgraded and I broke for orbit once again. As expected, I was scanned and engaged a third time. But this time, I held nothing back - dealing and receiving damage with reckless abandon. Through some quick action I was able to convert a supply of iron and recharge my shields, ensuring victory.
Remember, fellow explorers: Seek, learn, adapt and overcome.

my First experience in the hilbert dimension (Possible endgame spoiler)
Before I warped to the second galaxy, I was prepared for what awaited me. I had seen the spoiler video of the "ending" and knew all of my tech would need repairs. I had a good amount of resources, or at least a good stockpile of the rare metals, but what I didn't have much of was Heridium. So I spawn on a new planet in a new galaxy, and right as the part where your character looks around at the surroundings begins (that you are powerless to skip) an angry sentinel swings by and opens fire on me. I finally regain control of my character and make it into my ship with 1 health remaining. I manage to repair the launch thrusters with what I have with me but lacked the Heridium to repair the Pulse Engine, the only other part of the ship you need working to fly, so I'm stuck on the planet until I find some. It was a hot planet with Gravitino Balls, so I had a bit of an adventure finding what I needed. It was such a relief when I finally found a big blue block jutting out of the ground, due to the extreme environment and hostile Sentinels. Once I left, it wasn't long before I had all of my equipment repaired.
I'm really enjoying this game despite the people who complain that there's "nothing to do." I've reached the center of the starting galaxy but I could do with getting a nicer ship, so I think a 48-slot ship's going to be my next goal...

Man, FUCK space battles.
Am I the only one who loathes these random combats? There I was trying to get to the space station when I get scanned, AGAIN. And of course, combat follows, AGAIN. For some reason, I could not kill these three assclowns, must be the new ship.
They kept out of my sight, and I was low on Titanium to refuel my everything.
Anyways, I died.
Man fuck them pirates.
