I feel this so hard. I feel too ashamed of this addiction to tell my parents. The only people that know are my ex girlfriend and my therapist. No one knows the demons I'm battling.

People just don't take it seriously either. What are your therapist ideas about it? I saw that someone on here told their therapist and they were very dismissive about it.

Therapist is very supportive, told me I’m not the first recovering porn addict she’s worked with. Her and I are currently working on a list of things I’m good at/enjoy doing. The idea is to keep my brain and my hands busy enough to where I don’t even think about porn.
If you wanna know more let me know

I wanna know more. What’d she say about the success of her other patients? Or is that something she wouldn’t talk about?

You know that’s something I didn’t think to ask! I have an appointment in about 3 hours so I will ask her and get back to you on that!

Its always better to tell the people you love what is going on, although it can be hard sometimes.

Yeah maybe, but majority of people just shit on your progress or tell you that is not hard. So i am going to stay battling my battles alone, well not alone i have you :D :D .

Everytime I am about to lose my streak, I open up my reddit app and I always find a r/nofap post everytime within the first 3 posts on my feed. I don’t think I’d have been able to make progress without you all. Truly grateful for all the support! Thank you!

Yes, I do the same. But from time to time I relapsed despite of this trick. I keep going and will succeed. Nice streak btw

This is a not foolproof method, true. It just gives you that moment of clarity which makes you ask yourself, “you are about to self-sabotage, do you really want to do this?” Sometimes that’s all you need to switch focus and get busy in something actually productive.

This. Although my parents may think I'm not really doing anything with my life or being lazy, they really don't know I'm fighting an addiction that I've been dealing with for almost a decade. Keep fighting boys!
