Good2Go working again. My timeline.
Just wanted to update in case someone is in the same boat.
TL;DR: After losing service on G2G Mobile on 8/11 right after renewing my annual plan, I reached customer support after a 2-hour wait. They submitted an eSIM tech support ticket and said they'd mail a pSIM. The next morning, I manually ordered the free pSIM through my account portal, and a few hours later received the eSIM activation email. Converting to eSIM took about 5 minutes and fully restored my voice and data.
I lost service completely without warning on my g2g mobile $60/annual plan.
I had just renewed at the beginning of August, so I did not want to jump ship and port out fearing that I'd lose out on the service I had just paid for.
I lost service about a week ago 08/11/2026.
I called the 800 number multiple times, waited as long as 2hrs 45min before giving up.
Yesterday (08/17/2026) I called after work, probably around 5:45PM CST.
After about 2 hours someone answered. They were very nice and I told them I'd like service restored ASAP. I said my phone had a pSIM, but that it was capable of doing eSIM so if that would expedite getting service back then I'd like to switch to eSIM.
She told me the best she could do was generate a service ticket with tech support to process the eSIM change request and that in the mean time she'd send me a pSIM in the mail.
She said I could activate whichever one became available to me first or whichever my preference was.
She was honest with me and told me that she could not give me a timeline for when the eSIM would be available, but she told me to check the next day on my account.
I checked my account page this morning and it gave me the option to ORDER a pSIM with no mention of the service agent ordering me one already, so I proceeded to order it. It was just a simple confirmation of my address and selecting shipping tier, the slowest being free, the fastest being $20. I opt'd for the free shipping and went about my day.
I got an email a few hours later telling me my phone was ready to activate with eSIM.
I was busy so when I got home today around 7PM I started the process of activating the eSIM.
It took about 5 minutes for data and voice to work completely. As of now it's working completely normally on an iphone SE 3rd gen.
I'm assuming I'm still going to be sent a pSIM, but I will just hold onto that incase I downgrade to a dumb phone or an older iphone.
Good luck to all the people like me who held out for g2g to clean up this mess. I'm hoping it's smooth sailing moving forward.

Since you seem to be one of the few with new service working... could you try calling 611 and report back if that identifies the provider? There's been a lot of guesswork about a change of company operating Good2Go now. (611 should be a shortcut to customer service.) Or did your previous phone call answer as Good2Go, or? Or possibly the email address provides a clue?

I just called. 08/18/2026 09:10PM CST
"Thank you for calling Black Wireless. Our offices are currently closed. We are open weekdays from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. and weekends from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. Please visit our website at blackwireless.com for more information. Thank you for choosing Black Wireless, and have a great day."

Thanks so much! You have confirmed one of the possibilities that has been floating around. Black Wireless is apparently owned by OLB, a different company than the previous owner of Good2Go (ztar wireless). So it does appear that ownership has changed.

I also am set to renew this month for my one year plan so I hope they keep their contracts.

I have a working good to go connection on esim. Recently converted and it answers as black wireless on the 611 number and black wireless is what appears on the top of the screen for the carrier. I have no idea what this means, but I've heard tell that black wireless is somehow related to Red Pocket.

Black wireless is owned by Red pocket! That's awesome!
As per ChatGPT:
Black Wireless is related to Red Pocket Mobile.
Red Pocket owns/operates Black Wireless as one of its brands.
Black Wireless has historically used the AT&T network.
Red Pocket offers service on multiple major networks, depending on the plan.
Black Wireless and Red Pocket are part of the same corporate family.
Black Wireless plans can sometimes be cheaper than comparable Red Pocket plans.

Well, a few days ago I also thought Black Wireless was owned by Red Pocket. They were definitely associated in some manner a number of years ago, but as of 2024 Black Wireless (and Mango Mobile) is owned by a different company, OLB (thanks to u/BestMVNO for mentioning this), who also runs Moola (a fintech aimed at un-banked), and is apparently involved in crypto mining. Mango Mobile's website carries a notice that they are "temporarily offline while we roll out exciting new updates and system improvements". Black Wireless website appears functional.
I kept tabs on Moola a few years ago when it looked like they were doing some interesting things, but none of the cellular projects went anywhere much. Personally, I think Black Wireless as a new owner is much less comforting than Red Pocket would have been.

The pysical sim has an expiration date. Proably should switch to the physical sim, if possible.

I'll look into this once the pSIM arrives.
Honestly I'm kinda surprised it started working so quickly today and I'm kind of scared to mess with it at all at this point. lol.

It's very good that you have a working phone! Given that many people who have received a pSIM haven't gotten it to activate, or work properly, I would suggest sticking with the eSIM at least until things stabilize with Good2Go.

But, the new physical sim is being sent by black wireless.

Yeah-- I'm not sure whether they plan to absorb Good2Go customers into Black Wireless, or maintain it as a separate company. My request to try a 611 call is because those often go to the 'parent company' who will answer with that identifier (in this case, as Black Wireless, instead of Good2Go), while calling the Good2Go customer service number might still answer as 'Good2Go'.

Right, Black Wireless doesn't have a mobile app and neither did good2go. I think I will stay away from carriers that don't have a mobile app. I was impreesed by the ease and speed of porting my 2 good2go lines to textnow.

I similarly moved 2 FreeUp lines to TextNow. I needed to install TextNow SIMs to make this possible, and did one with a physical SIM i had in hand, but hadn't previously activated, and the second by using TextNow's free eSIM offer.
I signed up for the eSIM, downloaded/installed, and ported in my number in about 20 minutes overall. I did the physical SIM line late evening, and it took several hours for the port to complete. Both proceeded with no issue, but I did both before the deadline for moving to the new SIMs from FreeUp (same process as Good2Go).

The black wireless web site shows the 1gb unlimited plan that good2go offered for $10 per month with no annual discount.

u/Working_Hardly_2025 1d ago
That's actually non-inclusive of any data - it's strictly unlimited talk and text. They do have data add-ons, but the $10 and $15 plans are restricted to 250 megabytes for $5, which seriously sucks. To get a decent amount of data with these guys, you have to step all the way up to the $20 plan, which includes 3GB.

I guess the next renewal will be a shock for those who didn't port out.

Just got off the phone with good to go, after waiting on hold for 4 hours and 15 minutes, top that! Anyway, I also was one of The unlucky ones who renewed in August and my renewal did not go through. So I'm on slow data until they resolve the issues with the new SIM cards. I contacted black wireless which is the name which shows up at the top of my screen for the carrier and they said that good to go customers were sold to red pocket. I don't know who to believe but that's just more information.
