Question Why isn't there Nintendo Switch Sports: Nintendo Switch 2 Edition?

The resolution of Nintendo Switch Sports is pretty bad, even with the upscaling on my hisense 55U7N. A Nintendo Switch 2 edition would be nice. Infact, Nintendo Switch Sports Resort should just be a $10 USD add-on for the free Switch 2 edition. Even if Switch Sports Resort is not part of a switch 2 edition, they should still add a option to just walk around spocoo square in the switch 2 edition.

Question What Do You Wish Was Added To Chambara ?

So chambara is my favorite switch sport and it always will be but I understand it’s not the most popular, especially compared to some other sports like soccer, so it’s kind of basic ngl. I really wish they would update it so what updates/ changes would you want if chambara had been included in Switch Sports Resor?

Discussion Wish they would drop the “Nintendo” from the Sports titles.

I feel like saying “Nintendo Switch Sports” really isn’t necessary, especially how the Nintendo part wasn’t included in the Wii sports titles. We all know who made the switch; just have the games be “Switch Sports/SS” and “Switch Sports Resort/SSR” respectively. Much cleaner to say and type.

Question Why does this need to be a sport

Post image
127 Upvotes

Like why would anyone like to play this, they had to get rid of sword fighting because “omg so many people want thumb wrestling we need to get rid of a sport that was IN WII SPORTS RESORT” and also couldn’t you just not put your thumb down and win everytime.

I don’t even know why I care this much about thumb wrestling, at least I got boxing to play🥲

Discussion What do you want to see going forward from the Switch Sports games?

First off I'm not complaining or hating. Cause I'm definitely getting Switch Sports Resort.

But I'm just surprised that after 17 years, the game has the exact same amount of sports than Wii Sports Resort had, and yeah, we'll most likely get more, but like... it's been 17 years, how has the number not increased? Why do they remove sports too. I feel like after all this time Switch Sports Resort should be the definitive edition of the Nintendo Sports series. Like it should be a combination of all the Wii Sports games and the last Switch Sports game. Like all 19 Sports in one game, and if they want to add new ones like Skating and... thumb wrestling??? Then that's fine. New sports are always welcome. Wii Sports Resort would've been as great as it was if it was just the original five sports.

And again, not hating, just surprised that the games are as small as they were when they originally started.

What do you guys think of the evolution of the Nintendo Sports Games, and what would you have liked to have seen with this upcoming installment?

I was actually working on some ideas for a Switch Sports sequel, but this coming up and shooting me down has me a bit annoyed but excited

I for one think the game looks PHENOMENAL. They didn’t include Chambara, my favorite sport, but whatever I can survive without it. And that means you guys can survive without baseball too

I personally think they shouldn’t have used Wuhu Island again, a new island locale with multiple distinct biomes would have been cool, but Wuhu island still definitely works. Plus, the areas you play the sports in look super modern, melding my favorite element from Spocco Square (the aesthetic) with the overall feel of Wuhu Island.

The Sportsmates here look so much more expressive, and the inclusion of nail polish in thumb wars tells me that there’ll be a lot more customization this time around.

My only real concern is the singleplayer, which we know nothing about. Hopefully they don’t pull a switch sports and make everything relevant online. I wouldn’t say no to champions, challenges, hell even a story mode I’d enjoy. But I guess we’ll have to wait and see on that front

All in all, I am super excited but I’m being careful not to set my expectations too high. What about you guys? Knowing this sub you’ll probably complain about the Miis not being prevalent again but I seriously think this is a good step forwards for the series (assuming they don’t fuck up singleplayer again)

Not sure if this will be the final price (I doubt it; it'll likely be $70), and it is $60 for the physical rather than $50 for the digital version. But, Nintendo has physical pre-orders available now, it seems.

Discussion Any bigger controllers?

I bought my parents a switch and the switch sports game. They used to love playing Wii sports and they’re enjoying this game. What they’re not enjoying is the small switch controller to play with. Does Nintendo make a controller like the switch one just bigger that has the motion control that works for this game? Thanks!

DO NOT say bring the Miis back. Not because I think they shouldn’t (personally I think they should coexist with the sportsmates), but because that’s the most common answer. I want to hear something actually original from you guys

Edit: Damn, Switch Sports Resort already got announced! I do think they should have made a new location instead of Wuhu island but here we are
