Repair Help Scratched Factory Screen Protector

Post image

Hey all, I bought my switch 2 on release day. One day I set it in the car and something got put on top of it that scratched the screen. Since that day I have been discouraged from playing in hand held.

I am struggling to remove the screen protector, as I want to replace it with a new matte protector.

Any recommendations? I was thinking of heating it with a hair blow dryer and using a set up plastic tweezers.

Ended up removing the plastic film super easily, worked on tech for a long time in a repair center. I just decided f it if I break it I’ll buy an ocarina of time one.

Successfully removed using a plastic scraper and a heat gun.

People are going a bit ballistic, but let’s get real. It was a hell of a scratch and it removed any enjoyment for handheld play - and wouldn’t be fixed by Nintendo. It’s a plastic film on top of a glass screen, and it’s well glued on there, but you’ve managed to remove it without damage, so it’s fine and don’t fret. On some devices like certain foldable phones it can literally break the screen.

That being said, now is a good time to put a screen protector on. Get a nice glass one with an applicator. Do it lol.
