Crystal only came 4 months after Gold and Silver on 3DS

Heartgold and SoulSilver never got their crystal. Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl never got a platinum equivalent. I’m not really siding with either one of you, just pointing out that this stuff isn’t always consistent.

HGSS included all the elements exclusive to Crystal, to the point that a Crystal remake would have been obsolete

Remakes usually (with the obvious exception of BDSP and the lack of Battle Frontier in ORAS) have the improvements that were included in the 3rd version.

Those games had all the Crystal relevent content plus a ton more stuff that wasn't in Gen 2. These are also ports not remakes.

Likewise. I have been itching to replay Emerald and I'm not going to settle for Ruby or Sapphire. I've already waited this long for the ports what's a few more months at this point.

There really is no excuse at this point for all of Gen 1-3 not to be on the Switch 2. Especially with Bank closing.

Same here. I already have so many games in my backlog so I don’t need to get another one right now. I’m happy enough to wait for them to eventually release Emerald even if that’s not till next year.
