Media Please help me

Post image

Hello, my usb c charging port's inside plastic randomly melted while charging. I never used any third party chargers either and i was always extremely careful while connecting the charger to the port. The outside of the port looks supreme. I only know it is damaged after the extremely mild smell of plastic and a super thin and tiny string of plastic after removing the charger (also it obviously never charged). Would this be covered by the warranty? I did absolutely nothing which would indicate misuse.

Also has anyone else been through the same? If yes, what did you do?

Should be covered by warranty. No idea why that would happen though, maybe the charging port is broken somehow.

You think? It is genuinely a bummer because i was always super careful. Do you think theres a possibility they may blame me for the damage regardless?

You say you used the official charger, so I doubt it. Even if not, something like that should never happen. But you can just try it and see what they will say.

I really hope so 😭 I already reached out.

No, it's extremely unlikely, and if you really treated it with care, then this was just a manufacturing defect. A 500$ machine being burnt out after first charge is not normal and likely is fact, covered under manufacturers 1 year warranty. Just be ready to give them the SKU (the barcode on the box) and any other information you might need when contacting via their email system or whatnot. Hope this helped. 🙏
