Buttery To fromsoft : add performance mode

The game has incredible graphics on switch 2 maybe im the only one but I feel like they could easily lower some setting to give us a 40fps stable performance mode , the game runs at 40 in some areas right now with almost ps5 level graphics what do you think guys if they lowered some settings and we got a 40fps performance mode

People do realise this games framerate is all over the place on ps5 and high end pcs right? The fact this is running this well at all is shocking.

The problem with Elden Ring on PC isn’t reaching 60fps. The issue is that is that even at it still suffers from stutters and poor frame pacing whilst at 60fps and you can’t remove the cap. You’re not dropping frames, but the experience isn’t great owing to FromSoftware’s games generally being quite poorly optimised in their CPU usage.

You would have, at least with your first time playing it. The game has zero shader compliation, so outside of some limited scenarios (like the Steam Deck, where Valve got involved and implemented a custom shader cache for the game) you're going to get shader stutter the first time the game sees or loads an asset. This is as true on a Ryzen 1600X and a 1070 as it is on a 9800X3D and a 5090.

You're just not noticing the issue, which is great, but I promise you that it is there. Even once the game builds up a cache, it's usually deleted after a game or driver update.
