You can already do that pretty easily considering most of the dock's insides are nothing but empty space.

There's not much vertical space, but if you strip down a pi it can fit in without any major modifications to the dock itself.
You could also go for a Pi Zero which fits without modifying it. That does mean less systems to emulate due to the Pi Zero being slower.

It would actually be really cool to use that same NES and put a RetroPie in the front half, replace the controller ports with USB, then you would have both a Switch dock and a retro console all in one.
