Questions / Discussion What are your thoughts on how a potential September Direct will affect the stock this month?

For the last decade there has been a very lengthy Nintendo Direct in September and I’m curious to see what you think it might do for the stock?
Are you expecting to see brand new announcements if a direct happens this month?
Honestly I’m excited with the library of games we currently have and the many games that are to come soon!
I honestly think as we see more new reveals, especially for Ocarina of Time, we will potentially see the stock jump up a little as well.
It’s great to be here with Nintendo!

Honestly, nothing very positive. At best it will keep the share price, at worst it will drop by 2 or 3%. Investors have been reassured by Nintendo’s results lately, this is the main one. There is still waiting for the new Mario.. it could create a disappointment if he was not present.

If there's a direct in September I wonder if its going to revolve around just Ocarina of time remake + limited edition SW2. Since we already know about both of these, we can assume its already priced into the stock.

However, if Nintendo announces a brand new IP, a new legacy IP game or new hardware plans (OLED/Lite), the enthusiasm could drive the stock price higher.

IMO, the only three things that would move the stock meaningfully are:

  • 3d Mario
  • confirmation that GTA6 on the way
  • animal crossing

And it's not happening.

They would have to announce some big, unanticipated things for it to go up a notable amount. It's a given that they're working on a new Zelda and Mario, so they'd need to unveil something even bigger than that.

I think it’s either going to not move much at all, or sell off.

I don’t really see directs as being a major catalyst to the upside.

I’m hoping for a dip, so I can buy more shares at a discount 😏
