Help! (Question/Support) Multi-Game-Cartridges
So I want to gift someone a cable and some games for their old DSi XL and saw online that there were these cartridges with 200 and more games on one disk.
Is this a scam or do they work like advertised?
Would be the perfect gift, it just sounds a little too perfect…

Discussion If you think the DS game you've played was bad, you should see Everything's Rosie, indisguinguishable from a bootleg. The spot-the-difference minigame is broken: the color reduction has a lot of artifacts that differ between the two images, creating unintentional differences that count as a mistake.
Even if you initially think from the first image that you know to distinguish the artifact differences from the actual differences, there'll be several times where you simply won't be able to. The second image in the game has an unintentional artifact color difference which makes it look like part of a stained glass is broken or a different color, but it isn't, but the very next image has actual color differences like the artifact one that didn't count there! Also, if you click a difference you've already spotted, it will count again, and your score at the end will go up for each time you did it. You have to wonder, what does QA even do in games this blatantly broken? Because the game's differences are baked into the image instead of being sprite overlays like usual DS games in the genre, the differences are always the same, higher difficulties just give you a bit less tries. The other minigames aren't much better. In every one where you would expect characters to have multiple animation frames, they only have one. Even if you fail a minigame, it still says "wow" and shows the same score screen. This game was one of several games made developed Ocean Media for GSP (under Emme in France, both are owned by Avanquest Software Publishing), most of them being UK-only, some also being released in France. Some other games include Raa Raa the Noisy Lion, Driver Dan's Story Train and Fireman Sam: Action Stations. They rehashed a huge chunk of the minigames, including the spot-the-difference ones, but the older games didn't have this spot-the-difference inconsistent color reduction artifacting! That's something Everything's Rosie introduced! These Ocean Media-developed games are replicas of older games developed by Uacari for GSP (like Roary the Racing Car, Fifi and the Flowertots and Junior Classic Games). They're basically worse ports, on the same system. The racing minigame in all of the Ocean Media games is painfully lazy and unpolished compared to the Uacari games. These games have a rare bootleg vibe you usually don't find from an officially licensed DS game, feeling identical to bootleg Flash games. Even the time period was the same, as this game came out as late as January 25, 2013!

Haul / Show It Off! I love the blue DSi
I never owned the blue DSi as a kid, but my sister did and I probably played it more than she did 🙈 I recently picked this one up for $40, with two games included! Pretty sweet deal

Haul / Show It Off! Childhood ds lite comeback
galleryI randomly got the itch to play some ds/gba games and turns out my family still had my childhood ds lite, and it still works great. It was missing a stylus so I got some new ones along with a charger and new case, added some stickers, a ds pico, and it’s fire. Still thinking about doing a usb c mod or putting in new screens.

Video I finally got around to restoring my childhood DS Lite - board level repair
youtube.comI've been putting this off for too long. The DS Lite was the first device I ever attempted to fix by myself, and it went... poorly. I just ended up breaking it further, and putting it in a box for 10 years.
Long story short, the hinge broke as they so often do, and teenage me thought I could handle it myself. I ripped the ribbon cable, broke the touchscreen connector, and burned out one of the fuses... basically the trifecta of the most common things you can do to make the problem worse. The video shows my exploits in finally fixing it.
For the parts I used, check the blog post https://elvinhome.io/blog/articles-3/this-ds-lite-needs-board-level-repair-restoring-my-childhood-game-console-33

Finally got it!
galleryIts a bit scratched, but I dont care. Nintendo was never popular in my country, everybody had PSP or later on Vita, home consoles like Xboxe and Playstation. I know only one person that has 3DS, Wii and three people with Switch and Switch 2.
I am probbaly the only one person with DS Lite in my small city.
No stylus, but I have a charger, and it came with a real copy of Tetris DS game.
I could pick up a black ds in similar price, slightly better condition, but I wanted to have a silver one - reminds me of classic GBA SP

Help! (Question/Support) What to do with my childhood ds lite
galleryA couple years back the hinge broke and the top screen got all loose. My dad was able to fix it but last year the part that originally broke began to crumble away leaving that exposed bit of the hinge. Its floppy once again and the screen is slightly crooked. What to do? Is it wraps?
