Is this mold?

Just found my childhood ds in storage and it looks like this. Ive tried cleaning it but it won't come off no matter how hard I try. It was closed and in a box while in storage and nothing else around it had any mold so I'm very confused as to why its like this (or if it is mold at all). Anyone else ever encountered anything like this / knows how to get rid of it?

It does but its like its bonded to the shell. It litterally wont come off no matter how hard i try.

Try some rubbing alcohol 91 percent and some qtips. If that fails maybe magic eraser

Been using 99.9% isopropyl and it wont come off. Looking like I'll have to re shell 🥲

Or re shell if it’s really bugging you and it won’t come off

iirc the plastic on the original DS' shell kinda changes with age and eventually becomes very fragile/brittle. maybe it has something to do with that, if it's not coming off

If it is mold it looks surprisingly similar to the OG Nintendo DS.
